Wow he is so gentle with it! I think our Wyatt Ray would be knocking it around with his giant paws. What's the game called?

Tina - something made me log on today ... I have been thinking of you and know, as others have said, how private you are and didn't want to intrude but I had to check in. Your vet sounds amazing!!! Wow... one of a kind - truly. How lucky are you and Manni?ย
I do know how lonely this part of the journey can be and the intense highs and lows that come with it. I feel for you and wish I could be there now for you. Know that I think of you both ALL the time and as it sounds like it, Manni will be there in the spring when I make a solo journey across the many ponds. ...ย
And if not, we will drink wine and you can share all sorts of stories because no matter what, your bond is forever.
Sending you love my dear friend!ย

Ourย story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Late to the party but better late than never?
Hooray, hooray for your vet! Tina, I agree with Clare that you being who you are allowed her to be as forthright as she was. I wish us all vets with that level of honesty!
I was thinking of you both this weekend - reached for something on top of the frig and came nose to nose with your picture - made me smile a big happy smile.
I'm so happy Manni's doing so well - love the video with the puzzle. So serious about it.ย
Thinking of you both, many hugs to you both (but maybe you'll have to take Manni's share).
love

HUGGING MANNI EINSTEIN AND HIS LOVELY MOM!!!ย YEP!ย HUG DAY FOR YOU BOTH!!
I AM SOOOOOO GLAD....SOOOO DARN GLAD.......THAT WE ARE SEEING POSTS FROM ALL OF US IN MANNI'S FAN CLUB FOCUSING ON THE HERE AND NOW!!!ย ย That's where Manni is....he's here and he's living in the now!! ๐ ๐ ๐ย
Look at that happy GENIUS boy!!!!ย ย And he IS so gentle getting to his treats! ๐ย ย Merry Myrtle would just pick the whole thing up in her slobbering drooling jaws and try and eat the whole thing ๐
Santa is going to be very good to Manni this year because he clearly has been a very good boy!! ๐ย ย And Mum has been very good too!:-)
Lots of kove, treats for Manni and hugs for you both!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Rene: this is the game. Trixi is one of the most common manufacturers over here for all things pet. We have a number of these games and Manni had to learn patience for this stuff. He used to just get waaay too excited and knock things over. Wyatt Ray is not alone in this ๐ ย
I know that many dogs are very content with being in the yard, sleeping, and so on. Manni was never one of them. He needed a job, or rather something that would keep that looney brain of his occupied. So nowadays, since our walks are too short for him to take in enough of all those lovely scents and not even the handicapped classes make sense anymore, these games (and the boxes filled with treats) are my only way to keep him busy for a least a little while. However, I really do believe that because I have always tried to encourage an active mind, his is still as it was even today. And I really do believe that not only the physical aspects (as in rehab, etc.) are important in keeping our dogs healthy for as long as can be. Although I am the first one to admit that it would have been nice occasionally to not have quite such a challenging specimen... ๐
Linda: you can live by me -or with me!- any time! I think we've established that German weather and Wisconsin weather are rather comparable (sadly) so it won't be that big of a change... I'd love to have you here!!
Paula: That must have been one of the greatest things that anyone has ever said to me: I will believe for you. I don't know if you know how much that means.
Alison: it is indeed a very lonesome time because you just focus so much on this one thing that there seems to be not much room for anything else. I don't even think I am all that private, but just keeping my act together requires this focus, I guess. I would have loved to have you here for Thanksgiving but spring would be the better choice. Germany is the country of alcohol 'a plenty, so there'll be plenty while we reminisce (unless you do the marathon, of course...) ๐
Teri: I can't really explain it but it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling to know that we're still up on your fridge (and Alison's, too, I think). I love that.
Sally: I can totally see Myrtle swallowing that whole tower in one motion ๐ we should make her one that's like 4 feet high and made of steel... ๐
Teresa: you know me: I try and I will not give up. and you have been one of my pillars. Give Pedro and Woody a hug, I think I just heard Eurydice traipsing around upstairs, trying Manni's bed on for size ๐ ย
Holly: I GET IT WITH THE TIMESTAMP!! ๐ ๐ ๐ but you know: it's really hard to erase that from your mind if the vets at the clinic after the diagnosis refuse to give a prognosis and state that we should "expect days rather than months"... but I try. I swear to you, I AM TRYING! ๐
Clare, Michelle, Jackie, everybody: you mean the world!

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4ย May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30ย Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)ย
Thanks Tina! I've heard of that manufacturer and will be sure to recommend this in the Tripawds Gear blog . The Gambling Tower you have gets great review on Amazon.
By keeping Manni's brain so fit you are doing a good job keeping doggy dementia away. I've read that without mental stimulation, dogs are more prone to it, just like people. Manni is a challenge to keep up with in the brain games arena but at least it's not the dementia challenges of non-stop barking, pacing and crying, which many dogs experience. He's a rock star.
