Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Oooh, Comet, you rock! Thank you for posting these pics. We've so wanted to see what the doggie door looks like. It's cooooool! And Magic, you look great at the dog park, it's so nice to see you outside on a sunny day enjoying life. Who is your little friend?

Oh Ge'Lena....thank you thank you thank you.....I have decided after looking at some pics here that Magic has some white shepherd in him...there are two pics that look like they could be his relatives in a lot of respects!
I just didn't know how to post those pics....I changed my avatar but then it wouldn't show up and then it did, but the one saying I'm online is still the old pic ....SO I TRULY THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY PICTURE BEHIND!!!! I will sometime get this! And you got the pics to look like closeups...I hate to say it, but my hubby was the camera and camera to computer person and now I'm just trying to figure it out.
I love the doggie/kitty door....both animals have now learned to use it...before it was..if it is black it swings (it was a black rubber mat that was the last swinging door part) and if it is clear it is the glass door, don't bother. So they have had to relearn that and now they put their noses at the bottom...if there is air it swings!!
One downside that I'm trying to figure out how to cure...I notice that the flies and mosquitos and those huge flying things that may or may not be mosquito eaters have some intelligent members who fly to the bottom and in the house. I thought about weights on the bottom and of course the always popular magnets would be really good if the animals all learned to push...but OJ is getting kinda frail and I'm really not sure he would push anything that presented a challenge...since this was the first door of this kind the screen door guy made, it is really an experiment!! And when the swinging plastic (it is heavy plastic, the whole thing...the top is NOT glass) gets really yucky,l he has the measurements to just make another piece! I think maybe something that keeps the bottom formed like a metal rod, which would then keep it from allowing critters in might work....but for right now I'm glad they use it and I have a fly swatter in every room.
That isn't a dog park incidentally, it is Magic's mom flirting with a ticket for off leash dog at a regular park....the only good thing is that there are an awful lot of us and I plan on playing the disabled card....not that it will work.
Thanks again Ge'Lena....you ROCK
Oh, and the little friend is Shiloh, a chichuahua (the second one that is nice) that is NOT neutered and instead of dominance humping, I think it may really be a sexual humping....he is in LOVE with Magic's leg...well in lust maybe. This is NOT the first little guy he met, Pepper...I will try to get a pic of him...he is just a sweetheart but Magic likes to drool on him and lick him so now I carry a hanky to wipe him off (so his owner doesn't have to take him home and bathe him.....he's a new dog owner)

We are seeing the avatar showing Magic sitting in the grass. You likely just need to clear your browser cache to see the new one on your system since it is still loading the version cached on your system. If you have more questions or need additional help please search or ask in the tech support forum.

Magic is just such a handsome boy- so majestic looking! What great photos! You have to post more (and of OJ too) because he is such a gorgeous tripawd to look at! I can see why Shiloh would be in love with Magic's leg . Hope Magic and OJ are doing well these days....and hope you're able to figure out how to keep those critters out....especially those flying ones that you could probably put on a leash? You're a brave one!! The door looks great though - but isn't it always something!
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
it certainly is always something .... like the mysterious black oil like stuff that all of a sudden is in the siide yard...no poop smell, no barf smell and I would be in a total panic if it wasn't for the fact this happened LAST YEAR prior to the C....took a scoop in for testing and NO ONE ever figured out what it was. Never happened again til today. dang it. If this was the first time I had seen this we would be at the vet on an emergency basis...he has had some black over brown poop, but this isn't poop.
Here are Magic and OJ on the den bed prior to the surgery, I hope. (still learning this) He is considerably heavier but so is OJ!!
this was even before the bone biopsy and see the licked spot on that right leg.....he was preparing for them to stick a needle there!!
Magic is so beautiful... definitely looks like a wolf and white german shepherd! Loved the pictures of him... even with his little 'humping' friend Shiloh, Looks like OJ really loves his big brother too... How sweet.
My 5yr old german shepherd Wolfie, also has his very own kittie... 6 mth old Nala. They have become the best of friends... My hubby brought her home about 2 months after we lost our Jake. Wolfie had been so depressed (it was heartbreaking to see)... but Nala really helped him get out of his funk... and now they hang out together all the time. (and chase each other around the house and stuff). I only wish that Jake was still here with us... he would have loved her too!
Keep posting pictures and updates of Magic and company!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
We always love seeing Wolfie! 🙂
