I thought I'd share some good news we got today - Mackenzie had her 3 month chest x-ray and it's clean and clear!! I'm so relieved as I was very nervous about this. As we often do, expect the worst and hope for the best. She has finished all of her chemo treatments (we did 5 in total) and we will be starting her on the metronomic protocol tomorrow. The doctor is very positive about the effectiveness of this treatment. In addition to the Cytoxin, Mackenzie will be taking Lasix (diuretic) and Metacam.
I've been so distracted these days that I can't believe that I miscounted Mackenzie's ampuversary date! I've been thinking that she's going on 4 1/2 months but it's really 5 1/2 months! 6 months will be at the beginning of May. I shake my head wondering, first of all, how could I have messed that one up, and secondly, I'm very grateful that we've made it this far. Keeping our paws crossed....
My heart goes out to all of our tripawd heroes and their pawrents who may be having some difficult times....and of course to all of our tripawd angels that we will never forget.
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Oh Miss Mack the Night!
You just don't know how much I needed to hear some good news today! I so happy for you!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
YESSSS! Dog knows we needed that today, thank you so much for the great news, congratulations.
How could you have missed the date? Well you're living in the Now, silly! 😉
Hoppy Ampuversary Mackenzie!
