Her three-month ampuversary is today, October 2, and she is doing great. We had a long run/walk, a big play session with her little "sister" Pip, and she's now snoozing away on our bed. One day at a time, and I try not to be overly optimistic, but she's doing so well. I still hold her collar when she walks down the stairs, but I'm pretty sure that's more for me than for her
Thank you to everyone here for your sharing and support.
Yaaaaay! Three months is a pretty big milestone, after all the number 3 is magic in this community! Congratulations on getting through the worst of the amputation journey. May your future be wonderful and filled with good times! We'd love to share in that so please do let us know how she's doing with some updates!

Hooray for beautiful Loa! It's a perfect day for an ampuversary because 10/2 is "LIVESTRONG" day. Happy ampuversary, Loa! I hope you keep living strong for a long time and celebrate many many many more ampuversaries!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Happy 3 month ampuversary! Sounds like Loa is doing awesome. And you just keep holding that collar if it makes you feel better. The journey is about us too!

Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
