Hello tripawds!
We have been on an ongoing celebration of Johnnie's 1-yr ampuversary this week - first with sister that lives in France, then with daddy and mommy over the weekend.
This was the BIG DAY: 20th May. We celebrated with a meat kibbeh (some call it kebbe) cake (Johnnie is lactose-gluten-intolerant) - no chocolate for this Golden boy. Cracked wheat + minced meat + spices, oven-baked.

All in all, Johnnie is doing fine. Eating well, sleeping well, enjoying his morning walks and weekend pool dips.
An injury two weeks ago made him take 5 days of Maxican (NSAID), but fortunately is back to regular tripawd hopping. Some issues with liver enzymes, but I'll post in the "Ask a Vet" area.
This is a great opportunity to thank the whole tripawd community for all the support throughout this whole year, which feels like having more than 12 months due to the intensity of all I have been through. You have made this journey a lot lighter and easier.
This is the folder with the photos I took today - Johnnie + daddy. I numbered the photos, but Google Drive for some reason didn't like the organization. The pool ones are a sequence, and the after-lunch ones also.

Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet. Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues. Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle. October 17: started having seizures. Taking fenobarbital for seizures. April 18: started prednisone.
Happy ampuversary, Johnnie...and many, many more!
Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Johnnie! Johnnie! Johnnie!
That's three cheers for you my friend, and if I had more room I'd type three hundred more! Congratulations!
Glad to hear the injury wasn't serious. Keep on swimming and staying strong, you look pawsitively gorgeous and hoppy my friend. Hoppy Ampuversary!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
