Why not offer an upgraded PM service for a small fee????
0 to 25 FREE
26-100 $5
101 – 250 $10
250 to 500 $15
500 to unlimited $25
I'm no math genius but even if 600 people spent $5 – you'd get some moolah!
Of course you may not want to go by me - since this recession, I'm taking the mind set of "What's in it for me!".

Great idea, but now you're getting complicated. We're not about to touch the codebase for these forums. Upgrading member blogs with extra upload space and enhanced blog features via our WPMU Dev Premium Supporter plugin is one thing, but Simple:Press is another monster altogether.
Thanks for the thought!

Hmmm... we could charge Pennies A Post and still come out ahead! 🙂

Why not? You know, there is professional help available for compulsive hoarding.
Thanks admin, I'll keep that in mind. Didn't I ever tell you about the 15 great danes, 150 golden retrievers, and 1500 chihuahuas that live in my attic???
Shoulda waited one more day since I deleted 10 more messages than I needed to, now that you upped the limit to 25. Some messages are just as important or more to save as are things that one might want to check back to on the forums, e.g, important articles on metronomics & hemangiosarcoma that Toto once sent to me (and that I pass along to others now and then), but often include veterinary details on topics that we don't always want to bore the entire tripawd crowd with. Of course, I am no longer a companion to a tripawd, so those don't matter so much to me personally, but I didn't really want to zap PM's that happened to fall just before or after Dec 7th, when a certain notable tripawd passed. But maybe there is a way to send those to a 'regular' email address. Anyway, I haven't been chewing up that valuable band width much in the last couple of months if it helps everyone to breathe easier. But I bet Tazzie's successors have been.
In any case, I understand you need to have a limit, but that thought had not crossed my mind before it happened, okie dokie. I had assumed that PM's were a mere speck relative to the vast sea of blogs.
As for you, crazy Comet, a charge for PM or for a forum post??? Some of your ideas have been stellar, but those are definitely in the no go zone. That would quickly shut down PM and bring forums to an end, you immoderately zany MawdPawd.
Tazz-Winnipeg,
You could have copied the important ones and saved them on your computer!
I am no longer a companion to a tripawd,
You'll always be a companion to our tripawds! By the way, did you see the pics of puppies available at the Winnipeg Animal Shelter I posted? Look you could have your own Cometdog!

Okay, well it does look a bit gloom and doom when you put that in quotes like that, my dear Comet! Now don't tempt me with pictures of puppies needing homes just now. I'll be travelling with fieldwork all summer and can't really take a pup along, although I might be able to meet other tripawds (California fieldwork). Dontcha think my 1500+150+15 dogs is quite enough, even for a hoarder like myself?
Ha, I like the name "Tick" for one of the labs on that website. Pretty funny name, eh? I wonder how many she had when she arrived at the shelter.
