Today Trouble celebrates her 25th ampuversary. Well she isn't really celebrating, right now she is catching up on her zzz's, one must have their beauty sleep, ya know! She had a long stroll around the yard as I chatted with Kami this afternoon. She continues to do at least one, and sometimes two parameter checks a day, even though the arthritis is making it more difficult. She's a bit slower getting about, and will rest along the way if she gets tired. I've once again upped her Rimadyl, for about the past week she's taking 50mg morning and evening. She's a bit wobbly on her feet, and in the past few days has fallen a few times. Even though the joints ache, she is allert and quite demanding. I'm hoping once the cold weather is over, we can cut back a bit on the meds.
I worry some about the arthritis weakening her legs and hips, but will just keep doing what I need to do to keep her comfortable. If the Rimadyl stops doing the trick, we'll try somehting else. Tonight we will celebrate with an after dinner biscuit from her secret admirer. They are really yummy! (and better than green bean snacks)!

Shanna, you keep posting these monthly ampuversary updates on Trouble, and I keep running out of things to say about it! So, all I can say is this: Trouble is one amazing girl, and I hope you keep posting these updates for many months to come! Congratulations Trouble, keep 'em coming!! And such a lucky girl to have a secret admirer!!

Well, what can we say? We are so excited to celebrate each month for Miss Trouble!
When can we claim victory over that terrible enemy, cancer? She has WON and has beat it!!! Old age might be getting her a little down but not cancer!
Hooray for Trouble! Comet joins you in getting some extra ZZZZ's! But she wants to know who your secret admirer is? It better not be Fortis, she says!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Ah well, we're all a little wobbly on our feet these days, aren't we?
Congratulations Trouble! Twenty five ampuversaries is AMAZING! Here's to continuing to knock those statistics out of the water and surprising everyone in the medical establishment! Wooo hoo!!!!!
Shanna, you've got a great attitude and it's obviously serving both of you well. Keep it up. 🙂

the monkeydogs only THINK they have invaded the tripawd state
I'm not sure I'm up on my metals, but isn't 25 the silver one? Does anybody have the silver paw award to give her!!!! Great reason to celebrate, except my pants are already getting a bit maxed out here the last couple weeks, but what the heck, good reason to add a few more calories. I really need to get another dog so I can give them the treats!!!! Way to go Trouble, you show 'em, Big Paws Up, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Trouble 25 months is soooo amazing, what a milestone!!! Congrats, Congrats, Congrats!
Jo Ann & Tasha
Tasha 8 years old, First cancer diagnosis 6/26/09, Last cancer diagnosis 9/26/09, Amputation 10/01/09, Loving our girl moment by moment.
Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….
Shanna & Trouble,
You just keep on posting these wonderful monthly Ampuversary Notices. It puts smiles on Dad's face and we love to have such a wonderful reason to celebrate. Also, Trouble and Nova provide and excellent example how one should not give up but battle every day. I am sure that Trouble enjoys each and every day as much as I did - even the ZZZ's. Now I understand why Dad has had a constant supply of fresh Green Beans these last two weeks - in honor of our warrior Trouble. Make sure you demand all the rest of the trimming - Extra Hugs, Extra Playtime (and ZZZ's), Special Treats, and ICE CREAM. I know that Chloe will have some pumpkin pie with her vanilla ice cream tonight in honor of the occasion. I am not sure that she realizes just how lucky she is - I had to wait until I became a tripawd before I got any ice cream.
May the new year hold many more ampuversaries.
Spirit Cherry
You're one amazing girl. 25 months is simply fantastic Trouble.
The cold weather has its positive aspects but it's not so good for the joints. Stay demanding Trouble because you definitely deserve it.
Trouble is lucky to have you Shanna, as is this community You both rock.
Fortis and Brett
What a wonderful accomplishment - congratulations!!!
Zack, King of Dogs, 1996 to 2010
Zack lived a full 14 years, even to the end.
The joy and memories he provided us will last a lifetime.
Surviving him is his sister, Izzy, a 12-year-old boxer mix quadpawd.
And the latest addition, Zula, an 11-month-old pit bull mix tripawd.
Trouble, you are one awesome pup!! Congratulations on your super, shiny, silver ampuversary!!
Hugs and sloppy puppy kisses,
Lisa Ranger and Spirit Sadie
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Shanna, you kidding? If there is anyone out here who is counting Trouble's ampuversaries it is ME. My lovely Nova is right on Trouble's tail.... her 25th is coming up January 11th. Trouble, you are PAWESOME. I know how the cold can make the bones a little more creaky... I am feeling that right now myself. Keep these ampuversaries coming... we know if you have another, then Nova's next one if not too far behind.
On Christmas day we had a lot of leftover green beans, so I thought I would give them to the girls and even told them that it was in honor of Trouble. Well that didn't really go off the way I planned. These goofy girls were able to remove every single shard of roast beef and turkey from the green beans, along with the butter that coated the green beans, but refused to eat a single green bean. They tried to tell me that it was a greater honor to Trouble to "preserve" the green beans, and in fact I should box them up and MAIL them to Trouble so that SHE could enjoy them. Hmmmmmmmm........
Sue and Nova
Dane Mom Sue at nova.tripawds.com and Mom to Beautiful Great Dane Queen Nova, a Blind Tripawd, who kicked cancer's butt from 11/08-03/13. The Queen is Spirit Nova now, but her legacy lives on here at Tripawds!
Yay Trouble! I will always be excited to read more about her ampuversaries. It gives me reason to celebrate too. You win Trouble, it is so amazing. I like what Cooper said, I agree completely!
