Hoppy Valentine's Day Tripawds, Tripawd Moms and Dads, and all of the associated families and pack members!
Last night, I was reading through my very first thread, which goes from day 5 until Otis finished chemo. I realized for the first time that I joined this community on February 14. Seems so fitting, as I look back on how many of you supported me on that very first post, and and the love and compassion for our Tripawds and for each other that is the foundation for this community. This community is, for me, one of the best things that came out of Otis' cancer journey, and I am so thankful to be a part of it and to be able to support others as they move forward on this journey.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
Hoppy Valentines Day💕
I agree with you 100%! Very thankful to be apart of the community. None of use want to join this community, but what a blessing it is to have the knowledge, love ,support, and compassion! Only one Tripawds nation out there!
You are a great support to others! Thank you!
Otis and Tess will always live on!
Hugs to you and give Gator and the kitties hugs & scratches !
Hoppy Valentine's Day to you! I, too, celebrate the day I joined this community. What a lifeline it turned out to be; I never could have imagined what an impact it would make in my life. From helping me through my darkest hours, to bringing new friends into my life who I treasure. Sometimes I wonder where we would be without the cancer diagnosis - I'm not "glad" that it happened, but without it, I would never have known I had another family out there.
Paula and Nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

Hoppy Valentine's Day Christine!
Funny that it can be such a pivotal day for so many! Murphy's first visit with the orthopedic specialist at MSU was just after Valentine's Day, February 18th, 2013 ...so we got his diagnosis almost 4 years ago! I still remember exactly how I felt when they told me that it could be cancer - how it felt like the floor dropped out from under my feet. Cancer was not on my radar at all! I truly thought that he had a fracture that hadn't been seen on the original x-rays. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.
You have gone through even more than I have in an even shorter amount of time. Life sure can throw a lot of curves at us sometimes.
Hugs to you & Gator!

Christine and everyone, this is SO dang sweet, it really made our day to read something that just filled our hearts with love. Thank you!
And on this Valentine's Day week it reminds us that love is what this community is about. No judgement, just love, compassion and kindness for these animals and the amazing people who are doing their best to help them. Here's to YOU for being there for newcomers and spreading love around the world over and over again. Thank you!

I actually joined twice! First post was when Shelby broke her leg and they suggested amputation before we found the cancer. Once no cancer was initially found ... Shelby's leg was fixed and on we went... flash forward a couple months to cancer being found and then the leg coming off. I was a whirlwind of chaos ... OY I don't know how you all put up with me but I am grateful you did.
I send so much love back into this community on V-day... especially since my Valentine this year has 4 paws! 🙂
Hugs and love!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
My valentine has 4 paws too, except they seem to always be covered in mud! He is going to dig that critter out from under the gazebo if that is the last thing he does.

Happy Valentine's Day to you too Christine and everyone else too. This community is a truly magical place. I also treasure all the friendships and people I have met here, some in person some just via this site. None of us asked for this journey but how wonderful it is to have such a "safe place" to come where you have friends to pick you up and hopefully in some measure be able to give that support back when needed. Thank you Jerry Dawg, you and your people know the meaning of "giving" so your legacy lives on to help all that come here.
Hoppy Valentine's Day to all!
I too am so grateful to have found this family. My life would certainly not be the same without it.
I'm missing my valentine this year, a lot. Wallee has even tried peanut butter to deal with all the extra we have now. She definitely does not see the allure. But damn funny watching her trying to get it off her tongue and roof of her mouth!
Hugs to all!
(Go Gator! I'm rooting for you!)
Right rear leg amp 7/12/16 due to OSA. Metastatic lesion on her right front leg, January 2017. Joined the Winter Warriors January 19, 2017. Run free my sweet girl.
I do miss my best girl and best Valentine ever - but so grateful she sent the sidekick! This was mine and Shelby's last Valentine's day. Her oncologist always gave her a new bandanna post chemo. So hard to believe she lost her battle 2 months after this photo was taken... she looks so happy and perky and healthy here.

Hoppy Valentines Day to everyone. You all have said everything so eloquently. I know I consider you all a family. Some I have met, some I will be meeting and some I have talked to on the phone for right now. You all mean that this wonderful community is filled with LOVE whether or not our babies now have 4 legs or 3 we are all still family.
We celebrate with everyone and grieve those sad losses. Just remember to tell those around you that you love them too as tomorrow is never guaranteed.

All. Of. This. ALL!!
I was just popping online to wish everyone a Happy "Hearts" Day, as I like to call it. Thank you to all those who encouraged me, had faith when I had none and gave hope when it seemed like all was lost.
I have laughed, cried, cheered and been nervous right along with so many of you and I think that is the beauty of this community. Our babies are loved and lifted up by others who understand just how important they are. I have shared the heartbreak of that final journey and, while I know nothing can prepare me for that moment with my girl, I do feel better knowing that all of you will be here to share that sorrow and remind me of all the wonderful "extra" moments I was lucky enough to steal before that last chapter.
So I join the chorus of thank you, appreciation and love!
Xoxo,
