Dear Tripawd Friends: Sorry we've been out of touch, but we've got a big announcement to make---May 17th we celebrated Romeo's NINE month ampuversary! Yipppeee! WhoooHOOO! We are so thrilled our boy is doing so well---yesterday he was on the run within three inches of a squirrel and I had to scream "Romeo no!" and then I felt a bit guilty thinking it might have made a very nice ampuversary present----and I was sure Spirit Yoda was looking down at me w/ great disappointment.
I promised Romeo I would do him justice w/ a blog and pictures of his handsomeness this week---sorry it has been too long. But we have kept our Tripawd pride going here--Romeo's human sister Greta celebrated her seventh bday last month with a Tripawd dog party! Yes (and I do promise to elaborate on this in blog), the good folks at New Haven's Eli Whitney Museum and Workshop designed an inaugural Tripawd dog pull toy (on wheels)in their woodshop. Greta and about nineteen friends assembled and decorated their Tripawd dogs. Romeo was even invited to the museum by the director! This was all Greta's idea she is so proud of her furry brother! And Travis Ray, if you're reading this, she kept telling everyone at the party about you too!
Romeo is doing so well. He is just taking his dasiquin and getting acupuncture every six weeks or so. We treasure every day, knowing how lucky we are. Everyone out there needs to follow their heart regarding treatment, but we are so glad we said no to chemo. Romeo has just been enjoying his regular life since the diagnosis in late July of 2009. Ok, possibly he is even more spoiled than before......
We know we've missed many ampuversaries at Tripawds these past couple months----so a giant Hoppy Ampuversary to you all!
This post is a bit bittersweet for us, it's the first time we haven't posted in tandem with Zoe (August 18). We always think of our ampuversary mates Angel Zoe and Angel Jake. We miss so many of our early Tripawd friends Miss Cherry, Tazzie, Emily, and Caira Sue, Mac, and McGwire. And so many others, please know we are always thinking of you. Bob, we will all be making an ampuversary trip to Dairy Queen this weekend. And we'll toast Miss Cherry ice cream in hand (and Paw!).
Thanks again to Jerry and folks for giving us hope last July. We are so grateful we had your story to inspire us. And we are so grateful for
our beautiful boy Romeo! We love you big guy! Eve, Sylvia, and Greta

So glad to hear your celebrity status is spreading the word out there about Tripawds in New England, that trip to the museum sounds SO fun!
You gotta get together with Tripawd Maggie now, I know you two would get along great. Drop her a line, I think that a New England Tripawds pawty is in order!
May you have many, many more ampuversaries my friend, we're all so hoppy for you!!!

Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!

Romeo, Eva, Sylvia, and Greta,
Wow - WOW - WOW! Nine months is definately an incredible milestone and when one hears about how well all of you are doing, we could not have bigger smiles. Of course, I totally approve of your celebration plan. I know that I enjoyed my soft serve cone for my one year ampuversary. Dad says that someday he will tell the full story of the Ice Cream, but that is for a later time. Now its time to PAWRTY.
This community lives for success stories such as your romeo. I can tell you that there is a big smile on Dad's face as he reads about your great success. I thank you for that. You just keep on enjoying life, and nail a few squirrels for me. They used to drive me crazy as they would sit on the back fence and flick their tail at me. Dad just did not understand that they could play elsewhere but not in MY YARD.
Looking forward to many more Ampuversaries,
Spirit Cherry
Happy Happy 9 month Ampuversary Romeo, 9 months is so pawesome !!! You are such an inspiration to us all. Hoping for many more ampuversaries for you!
