Thanks everyone!
Rene- you found an excuse for posting Slide Pug! Thanks.
Jacki- no green beans for me EVER! I can't stand the darn things.
Charon- you're right, I definitely don't look 25…
And Austin Ray- if only you fit through my dog door!
Not quite the day I had planned… I spent about 3 hours this morning at the eye vet as Tani has a serious eye injury. I spent the rest of the day putting various drops and ointments in her eye EVERY HOUR! And that is what I will be doing until tomorrow night when we can back off a bit. Hopefully we will save the eye… at least she hurt her bad eye! And I've been through this 3 times before, twice with Maggie and once with Obie.
I did manage to fit in a quick b-day dinner with my folks, and the best part of the day- my mom's homemade fudge sauce!!!
Thanks again everyone. And please cut me some slack if my posts are a bit nonsensical over the next couple of days!

Happy Birthday Karen! I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to say thank you for all that you do here. Your advice and encouragement helped me tremendously with Sadie. I'm so sorry to hear about Tani. I hope the drops and ointment do the trick. How did she injure it? I think after Tani's eye is better, you should get a birthday mulligan and have the awesome day that you deserve! A good excuse for another round of homemade fudge sauce!
Lisa, Spirit Sadie, Ranger and Athena
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Oh, Karen, so sorry to hear about Tani! Maybe she was jealous of you being the birthday girl and pulled this stunt to get attention!! I hope she gets well very soon. You are such a special person and friend. I hope your day was wonderful and your mom left you some fudge sauce to warm over!
Lisa and Zeus
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

I'm late to the party. Happy Birthday! and I'm so sorry about Tani. Hopefully the eye will heal quickly and fully.

Oh no! Hope Tani's eye is ok! Scary. (Man, those monkeydogs will do anything to divert attention back to them. We love you too, Tani! Really - we love you a lot.)
Hmmmm. Homemade fudge sauce. Sounds like a perfect bday treat to me!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
As usual, I am late to the pawty. Happy birthday, Karen! Thank you for all your help and encouraging words with Chili Dawg. I agree, after Tani's eye gets better, you definitely earned a mulligan and get to have another celebration!
Jenna & Spirit Chili dawg
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
I'm late to the party, too, but I wanted to send you lots of birthday hugs and wishes! You've been a great source of support and encouragement, and I can't tell you how much we appreciate you!
(Even though Rio never looked like your pugs, she was thrilled to be an honorary Woo Pug. And if she was still here, she would send you some special Woo Pug love for your birthday.)

Oh Tani, we hope you're feeling better! How did you get poked in the eye?
Definitely not the best birthday present for your Momma, silly girl, but we're just glad you're OK.
