Happy 3 years Nova! We'll be passing around the treats over here!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
She really is special! Nova has long held a place in my heart, I love your connection with her and I feel she is one of those dogs that the world can feel her personality and her energy flowing through. Keep on rocking it magic girl, all hail the Queen!
3 years, wow!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
To the Queen, Dane Mom (Sue), Sister, and all the Family,
It is so very hard to believe that these journeys started three years ago, but we WILL be celebrating the wonderful success that you have had. Nova and the dedication of the entire family has been a beacon of inspiration to all that have followed. We fight, fight, and fight again to keep them battling. The term of "Hero" is well deserved and so very appropriate on Veteran's Day. It takes so very much strength and a will to continue enjoying their life for our TriPawds to continue this journey under such hard circumstances. I have the green beans (fresh from my garden) in honor of Trouble, and have an excellent Ice Cream for the celebration.
On Veteran's Day 2008, Nova started her TriPawd journey. Cherry was diagnosed just a few days later and started her TriPawd journey just eight days after Nova. Soon after Max, Trouble, and Tika also started down their journey and thus there were five cancer amputations over a four week period. We never stopped cheering for each other as we all progressed down their respective journey's. Tika's journey ended slightly a year after it began, Cherry's just over thirteen months, Max's just under fourteen months, and Trouble's was more than two years long. We still have Nova leading the way and the spirit of the other four cheering all along the way. Hopefully, this group provides inspiration for all following. There have been significant inprovements in treatment options, but above all it is the dedication of the family pack and the support of all the TriPawd Community that really make the difference.
Queen Nova – Keep on Trucking, Demanding Your Special Time, and Leading The Way. We look forward to continued glorious updates.
Spirit Cherry's Dad
I feel honored to be posting after Bob and Spirit Cherry! How very fitting. The November Five was indeed a regal group, we fought side by side, support and worried about each other. Knowing Nova continues to thrive is indeed awe inspiring for me. She is showing the world a cancer diagnosis does not mean a death sentence. Trouble's journey lasted 27 months, and complications from age brought her down, not cancer. Had age not been a factor, I think she would have made three years also.
Nova, you are definitely 'The Queen'. I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am for you and the family. You are #1 in my book. A hero, an inspiration, a legend. Long live the Queen.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
OMD, Bob, you don't know how wonderful it is to hear from you and receive your warm thoughts for the Queen. Ours was such a very special bunch. The holidays are such a bittersweet time now... I remember Cherry's passing like it was yesterday, and the tears flow every time I think of it. I miss having our special pack all together on earth, but I know one day we will ALL have the most joyful reunion.... with ice cream, green beans, and plenty of beef trachea for the Queen. And big fluffy sofas for Trouble and Nova to watch on as Cherry, Max and Tika play. During the last few years at Tripawds, I am sure many other similar packs of pups have formed. We all know that there will always be a very special bond with those who walked the same journey with us side-by-side.
Like Shanna said, I am convinced that Trouble would still be here if it's weren't for her old age. Nova is getting up there in years herself (she will be turning 8 in January, which is "golden years" for a Dane). I hope and pray that when her time ultimately comes, that she will transition to the spirit world cancer-free like our beloved Trouble.
I hope someday our paths cross on earth and we can meet in person, but if not, I know I will see you at our November 5 Spirit Reunion someday.
