Holly, I'm so happy for you My last chemo is a week from Sunday and I can hardly wait!!! I'm hoping after this mom will be home more (I'm not supposed to know this, but I heard her tell someone that chemotherapy costs a lot of money, so she's been working a lot of extra days to pay for it). She said we're going to go on more field trips and I'm really looking forward to it. Oh, here she come with a treat in your honor (I think I smell bologna!!) gotta go now!
Congratulations!!!!!
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Happy ampuversary from Gus and myself. we opted not to do chemo, but I can imagine the great feeling of not having to deal with anymore treatments. I think we are going to try the mushrooms and our vet is looking into the metronomic therapy as well as palladia. I'm hoping we can celebrate a five month, but as we have all found out, any anniversary is reason to celebrate. Here's to many, many more, BIG PAWS UP, Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
CONGRATULATIONS HOLLY !! YOU are the girl.....
Sophie celebrated your milestones by devouring a "salmon-skin-rawhide-bone-shaped" treat. She wanted me to scour the Forums to see if there was ANY other reason to celebrate. Finding too many successes and stories of strength and courage to count - she got to start in on her piece of elk horn. (I'm not telling her about the salmon popsicles.)
Way to go, Holly. Wishing you many, many more healthy and happy ampuversaries.

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."
