Holly had her final chemo yesterday! The vet said she's doing great (which we already knew), and now the final chemo is behind her! She'll start on metronomics in about a week. Since her blood counts have been low from the chemo, we'll check them again before starting... one last stick!
AND... tomorrow is her FIVE MONTH AMPUVERSARY! (can you tell how excited we are?) We're celebrating with lots of salmon popsicles, and various other treats, lots of hugs, and some walks. Oh, and probably a few car rides, too.
Holly wants all you tripawds to ask your pawrents for an extra treat to help her celebrate!
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Rooooohoooooooo!!! Congratulations! We'll definitely be celebrating in her honor on Sunday at the pawty. Still bad timing for her with her chemo, or maybe because of the low blood counts, right? Oh well, she's kicking cancer's butt, that's what's important. We'll have another pawty soon. It's all good.
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
Congratulations, Holly! Woohoo! Extra treats for Catie and Riley for sure.

Love Never Ends
Holly,
Wow!! Just where do we begin the celebration - Five Month Ampuversary or Final Chemotherapy Treatment. You know that such milestones deserve their own PAWRTY, so we just decided that a two day celebration was in order. I am especially fond of the car ride as part of any celebration. Dad and I made many of these rides and on my One Year Ampuversary, we went to the local Baskin & Robbins for a soft serve ICE CREAM CONE. (Hint, Hint, Hint). However, I know that you pawrents will be floating on cloud nine. Dad always says that my real improvement came after the chemotherapy was over. Sorry about the low blood count, but that will pass. Just remember, that the immune system may have been compromised by the chemotherapy, so be very careful.
Dad says that he will start the two day celebration tonight and it will continue through tomarrow. Special toasts for reaching this milestone and a toast to future ampuversaries.
Spirit Cherry
I can remember the feeling of relief after that last chemo. Way to go Holly, keep that ampuversary celebration count rising. I'm very happy for you as you celebrate this wonderful milestone.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
That's super duper! We knew our buddy, Holly could do it!
Yuck-o on the salmon treats!
BUT........
Here's comes the windup...
get ready...
ready............
I Scream for Ice Cream!
PA-POW!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Thanks for all the well wishes! Admin - we sent in the "recipe" for salmon popsicles. They're easy - just canned salmon and some water in a small snack baggie - once they're frozen pop it out of the baggie and voila! A salmon popsicle! But they are smelly, so best eaten outside or on an old towel that can be tossed in the wash. Holly loves them! And Zuzu is loving them, too!

Happy 5 month ampuversary Holly!! Enjoy those smelly salmon popsicles!!! Hope you have many, many more happy ampuversaries!!!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
Happy 5 Month Ampuversary Holly and congratulations on your last chemo treatment!!! This is very big news and we are definitely celebrating with you! Here's to many many more ampuversaries, no more chemo and lots of salmon treats and ice cream! Heck, I think we should throw in some steaks, hot dogs and hamburgers too since everyone will be firing up the grill this holiday weekend!
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Hey HJBG- happy ampuversary!!! (did I get that in the right order?)
And big yea for being done with chemo- it was so wonderful when we didn't have to routinely do the bald spot on the leg!
Salmon popsicles.... hmmmm. I think we will go with ice cream here if you don't mind.
Have an outstanding weekend celebration.
