I have been wondering this for a while now. It seems that Admin is very educated in all this computer stuff and such. I was wondering if Admin has ever thought of keeping track of each Tripawd as far as type of cancer, type of treatment and lifespan if the dog has passed? And maybe add breed or breed mixes if known? Wonder if something like that would be useful? I know I am curious. It seems like an awful lot of osteosarcoma dogs for instance but not alot of MCT or soft tissue sarcoma dogs?

OH SURE! I bet admin would LOVE to keep track, cuz they aint got nothing else to do!!!!!!!
Hahahaha!
Get on that admin!
- Sorry, I couldn't resist since I know they are always so busy with the site and such.

I was just thinking maybe some webpage where each tripawd owner could fill in their own information...
Just a thought.

Yeah, like when a new Tripawd registers, there could be a few fields to fill in the info, which the pawrent could update as needed. Plus the name of the Tripawd and the screenname, so that we could find and PM pawrents who had screennames that are different then their pet's names. That would be cool!

Is it just me or does it seem Rotts have a really high representation on tripawds? Good idea.
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
I have read that 80% of Rottweilers die of cancer, with Bone Cancer being the most common. I don't know if this is actually true, but it could explain the high number of tripawds.
I also think this is a good idea. It would be very interesting to see the different breeds/cancers/treatments/lifespans.

Amputation on 11/10/09, due to Histiocytic Sarcoma in left elbow. Angel Harley earned his wings on 06/24/10.
Re: rotts with cancer, actually I think it's a big dog thing. Bone cancer is very common in big dogs, and it seems like a very large percentage of the dogs on here are big dogs, like Rotts, Dobermans, Danes, Labs, Retreivers, Mastiffs, etc. I think the fact that they grow so fast has got to have something to do with making them so prone to bone cancer.

Yah sure, put it all on that Admin guy!
But seriously, it's funny you should ask. René and I have just compiled our questionnaire structure and will be posting the first comprehensive Tripawds Care Survey soon. Thanks to all who helped us develop the questions. Once published we will announce a deadline for preliminary collection of data and then periodically post updates in Jerry's blog and here in the forums with findings.
Stay tuned.

Hey wait a minute. I believe Tazzie 'thought' of the survey and just sent the work your way, kind of like Maggie tried to do! I bet you miss having Tazzie around to come up with all sorts of projects to keep you busy. (eek - just checked back to the survey thread and saw that was when Tazzie was a complete newbie at <2 weeks post-amp. Ahh, the good ole days.)
What's with the "Jim" avatar??? That's a pretty funny-looking tripawd!

Never mind that man behind the curtain. Jerry's the one in charge around here.
