Happy 17 Month Ampuversary Cemil! That is so pawesome and you are so amazing! It's so great to hear that one of our tripawd heroes has made it this far. Way to go Cemil! Here's to many, many more ampuversaries and celebrations!
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
WOW, WOW, WOW! Cemil has always been my hero! I am rarely posting any more, but this is exciting! Nice to hear GOOD news. I still have his Trading Card propped up at the computer so I see his happy face every day. Just took this pic:

It came out kinda dark, but you can see it at the bottom of my monitor.
Happy Ampuversary Cemil, you are always in my thoughts (and of course you too Mary)!
Hugs,
Dawn

Happy 17 month ampuversary Cemil!!! Wishing you an awesome celebration and many, many more happy ampuversaries!!!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
I am getting teary because 17 months is so amazing!! Actually, I just gashed my eyelid open on the side of a table so am super emotional right now, but 17 months is still a REALLY BIG DEAL!!! I have been sick lately and yesterday as I was laying in bed next to Jack, he took a deep breath and let it out slowly and it was the first time in 13 months that I didn't analyze every little sound that came out of his mouth along with the breath. I actually remember thinking, "back when Jack was sick..." Does there ever come a point where you just kind of forget what's going on with our dogs? That every little thing they do isn't accompanied by a thought on how cancer relates to it? Perhaps this should be a separate topic, but too late now! Cemil, you are one AMAZING little boy...here's to 17 more!!

Absolutely! You felt it! You felt it when Jack let out that breath. It's that moment, that instant, when all is pawfect in the world. All those worries about things that haven't happened, they disappear. The trick is, remember that feeling you had when Jack was by your side just then, and let it live in your heart as long as you can.
Sorry you don't feel well and that you koncked your head Laura! What a week! Feel better soon.

It's already been said but I'm going to say it again anyways: 17 months is INCREDIBLE! That is, as Laura said, a really, really big deal. And it's enough to make me cry. Which I am.
Happy ampuversary, Cemil.

Birthday – November 4 2003
Amputation – January 13 2010
Crossed the Bridge – June 2 2011
WHOOOOOO HOOOOOO! GO CEMIL! We just LOVE to see ampuversaries around here. I don't know what this green bean stuff is though, bleah. I think beef trachea is much more appropriate for celebrating. Or even ice cream, like Cherry always says. Mom says tonight we are going to toast Cemil the Big Man with a delicious Beef Trachea Sundae (for me) from Dairy Queen.
Licks and Leans,
Queen Nova (and mom Sue)
Dane Mom Sue at nova.tripawds.com and Mom to Beautiful Great Dane Queen Nova, a Blind Tripawd, who kicked cancer's butt from 11/08-03/13. The Queen is Spirit Nova now, but her legacy lives on here at Tripawds!
Rhoohoo!!! You are the dog, Cemil Hoppy Ampuversary!
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
