Kami, Angel Mackenzie and Kobe
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!

Do you mind posting his current medication regimen?
I don't mind at all. You're right–we didn't do chemo. His doctor had me put him on Hoxsey and ImmPower (AHCC). I've had to change brands a couple of times, but the formulas have been pretty consistent. He eats Nature's Variety Instinct Rabbit and I give him salmon oil and acai berry powder every day too. A few times a week he gets the probiotic powder from Flint River, and sometimes I give him green vegetables, with enzymes to help digest them.
I guess none of that could really be called "medication"–but that's what he's getting. No drugs.
Early on, I was really upset that he was so young (3 and 3 months) when he was diagnosed. Now I think that may have helped greatly–he was such a baby that he let me know his leg was hurting way before a fully adult dog would have. In any case, I'm so very thankful that I've been able to have him with me this long, for whatever reason.

More details about Cemil's regimen can be found here in our Nutrition blog.
Mary, it's truly amazing that at three years old, he was diagnosed and has beaten the odds. Those dumb statistics say that dogs under 5 year old who are diagnosed with bone cancer have less of a chance of remission than those older than 8. You're living with a walking miracle! And we are hoppy to be a part of it, thank you!

Update...
Cemil had his checkup with Dr Williams and she found nothing to be concerned about. She aspirated the little skin growth and again, nothing there to be concerned about.
So, more cookies. Thank you, everyone, for the support. This is certainly a good place to be.
