Our old Fred is slowly re-emerging. Last night he jumped off my sons bed and ran outside to bark at the wallabies (small kangaroos) in the house paddock just like he used to. It was such a joy to see him do that again.
My husband took him to a dog park that morning and I think the attention he got from the other dogs was enough to make him realise that life was not over just because he is on three legs rather than 4.
I really believe that the last weeks listlessness was mainly depression.
He also chased the sheep during his walk yesterday and was almost as fast as he used to be.
Such a relief that our beautiful boy is back!

I'm so glad to hear that Fred has "returned" and that he has now adapted to his new reality!

Looking forward to many more happy updates!

Yay for Fred! What a great report. It's such a great feeling when your little one is finally back in good spirits and acting like a dog again. I, too, am experiencing this moment with my little one. Each moment will just continue to make you happier...

Lots of hugs to you both,

Samantha and Tripawd Abbee

Go Fred!!!

I'm pretty sure I've never read this here before:

... ran outside to bark at the wallabies...

No matter what is normal is, it is awesome when our pups get back there.

Yes, we have wallabies that visit us. We live next to the bush on the outskirts of Sydney. They come into the horse paddocks at dusk & dawn. Very cute!

Anyway here is a video of Fred on his morning walk :) (hope the link works)
