Domino just celebrated his 4 month ampuversary this past weekend! We spent it being lazy and cuddling. 4 months sounds like such a short time but it feels like he's been here forever. His hair is almost completely grown back, just a bit shorter than the rest. He's adjusted very well and rarely has any problems getting around now. He's almost done with his intermediate obedience class and is at the top of the class!
Domino's favorite thing at the moment is going for car rides and visiting anywhere there's people to pet him. He's slowly but surely getting over his fear of men. There aren't too many tripawds in our area so he tends to get lot's of attention. The best comment was just recently a man in Petsmart was waiting in line behind us and after a few minutes of staring he asked very nicely "What breed was he originally?" It got a laugh out of me and Dom's trainer. I nicely told him that "originally" he was an Australian Shepherd but when they shipped him a couple of parts were missing so the assembly didn't go as planned
I hope everyone is doing well!

Domino had his left front leg amputate on May 13th 2014 after being hit by a car. He's now living a happy healthy life on three legs :)
Hey Cassie and Dom, congratulations! I've been thinking about you and wondering how the pack is doing. HOPPY AMPUVERSRY to you!
OMG that's a funny story about the guy at Petsmart! Love it!!! Maybe we should see if we can get the "Tripawd" breed into the AKC?
Love knowing life is good for you both! By the way Cas did you see our Tripawds Conditioning Course that's coming up in January?

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Congrats!!!! And LOL @ the guy at Petsmart! I remember one time someone asked me about Shelby's missing leg and I looked at them and said - with a straight face - OMG, I hadn't noticed! She gets along so well w/out it!
So glad Dom is doing so great with you and has found his way into your heart and your bed!
Many happy months to come!
Hugs!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
You know what is supposed to come with the 4 month ampuversary? New pictures!!!!
Happy, happy Dominick!
We once had someone at the park say about Maggie: "how cute, she only has three legs" as if I chose amputation to make her cute!?!?!?!?
Karen
p.s. did I mention we need to see new pics of Dom?
Tri-pug Maggie survived a 4.5 year mast cell cancer battle only to be lost to oral melanoma.

Alright, as requested here are a few quick pics of Dom and his pack! I'll try to get some better shots tomorrow
I was finally able to get a picture of all three amigos together! And one of Domino and his very gray very sweet 14yr old big sister Bounder :). You can see in a few of them that his hair is almost back to normal. Thanks so much for everyone's support and kind words! You guys mean a lot to Domino and I.

Happy Hoppy 4 months!
I had no idea our dogs changed breeds when they became tripawds?! I thought they just added tripawd at the end just like MD or DVM! Great comeback to the guy at PetSmart.
Have a great day!
Luanne & Spirit Shooter
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Love seeing the pack all together, especially Bounder. What a sweet face.
Dom is really growing up to be one handsome boy.
