Woof Woof and Happy Birthday indeed!!! Hope you have a spectacular day!!
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Hey thanks folks! Dakota and Evelyn are happy because they had a sardine treat with their supper. Me? I'm waiting for the raspberry torte and vanilla ice cream over there. I think that sounds a bit more my speed.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

I hear ya! I'd rather have raspberry torte instead of sardines. Hope your day was amazing!

The dogs did have some sardines and then some ice cream! Then Evelyn puked all over the floor in 2 places! Yay Evelyn! And of course she moved a foot from hardwood to carpet before she barfed because you should never ever barf on hardwood if you can do it on carpet, right?
Evelyn has had quite a week. The head tremors resolved, 3 on the first day and 1 on the second, then no more. However, she then decided to get either bitten or stung (that's the consensus, anyway), on her lady business and it's been....interesting. Two vet visits, one shot of epinephrine, multiple benadryl capsules and some aloe vera. Was threatened with predinisone but today, on day 3, it's finally getting better. Not to be too graphic, but she looked like a baboon in heat. Kinda. You get my drift. The vet was amazed she could pee. So girl dogs need to watch where they squat, especially if they're only a few inches off the ground to begin with. What a week! Sheesh (as Gayle is probably saying up there watching over us all).

Oh poor Evelyn! OUCH!!!!
Geez, it can only get better from here, right? I'm so sorry you all had to deal with this.
I'm so glad the tremors have subsided, I hope they don't come back. I can't imagine your tough girl having any kind of difficulties. That just doesn't seem possible.

Ya know, sardines and ice cream would make me barf on the carpet too. Hope you had a happy birthday anyway!
Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.
Happy Birthday Shari (definitely an interesting one!)
Loads of hugs and wags

Has Evelyn been taking Monkeydog lessons??? She's really getting good at it to be pulling so much Monkeybusiness in such a short period of time. Barfing on the carpet is NOT the right way to tell mom Happy Birthday!

Sorry I missed the bday greetings here. (House guests all weekend.)
Must have been a heck of a party if there was post-party barfing.
Rita sends belated bday Monkeybutt nose-pokes,

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
