I was served notice this morning by Angel Comet, that I needed to post the news that today is my 3 month ampuversary. I had reservations about bringing it up, as Isabelle said , among other things not to tempt fate.. but Cooper and I have made some good and binding friendships in this group, and we feel a part of a family here. Over the last month, there has been such an outpouring of grief in the group with the loss of so many furkids... to mention and celebrate Coopers 3 month ampuversary seemed in a way to be selfish... in a way like showing off.. in a way like gloating... and I want everyone to know that none of the above are true... but a quiet celebration seemed in order. Everyday that I wake up and my big guy Cooper is still here, and still getting around by himself and still smiling, and still eating , is such an achievement and such a huge joy to us... I have such mixed emotions at being so happy for us, and at the same time feeling such grief and burden for our friends during their time of loss. We may well not have made it this far had it not been for the tripawds web site and the people and dogs here.. I was a basket case at the beginning of Coopers journey and people here took ahold of my life and gave us the support and encouragement to reach each new month... well .... TODAY is Coopers 3 month ampuversary! And we love him so much more than words permit, and this day is as much an achievement of tripawds and the people represented here as anything I and Faith have done... please join us in celebrating Coopers 3 month ampuversary... if I have rememebered how - I have donned Coopers red pawty hat - given ealry on in his journey by none other than Comet! Thanks everyone for being here for us!!

Today I celebrate Cooper (and you) being a part of our family. We are thrilled Cooper has recouperated and is strong and happy. My wish is that you and Coop will have many, many more ampuversaries to celebrate.
As you will see by my ampuversary post, I too am conflicted by all the tragedy we have experienced lately. It somehow seems wrong and even surreal to be so blessed when our friends suffer.
I have been here a long, long time and in my heart I know how very important it is to post these ampuversaries. There are those coming behind us that need the hope they offer. There are others who need to know statistics are only numbers. there are others who will find strength in knowing we are celebrating one more month.
Go give Cooper something he loves, and tell him what a blessing he is in your life - in our lives. Carry on, Cooper - you are hope, and strength. You are a hero. Celebrate your day in grand style.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Thank you so much for the warm and kind words Shanna and Trouble... and thank you for helping me put my feelings in perspective. We do need to be here for those that come after us and I thank you for reminding me of this. Happy 26 months again to Trouble! What an achievement and what a goal! May Trouble alos have many many more!

Congrats to you Coop! Every day should be a celebration. Your posting this great news IS important to the Tripawds community. Having lost Skyler last year, I can honestly say that every time I read about someone else's ampuversary, I cheer. I'm not jealous- I am thankful that your fur-baby is still with you. I NEED to read pawsitive news whenever I can. But at the same time, I need to accept the bad stuff too. It's part of life, which does suck sometimes - but in the long run - It's a Wonderful Life.
Give your pup extra belly rubs & a kiss onthe snout! Post some pics too!

Cooper Super Duper,
Remember I'm still here in spirit and I'm having lots of peanut butter cookies today in your honor! I may even have some ice cream a little later on!
I told you this morning when I sent my special spirit signal out, that you are special (and good lookin') and you must celebrate every day with your family. (Don't worry Fortis is off swimming somewhere with Mackenzie, he can't hear me flirting with you! Oh, there's Opie swimming with them, too! Mattie Monkeyface's spirit brother - the nice one.)
Let's recap: We are all having a party up here in doggie heaven because of you, Trouble and Isabelle and all of the others that are enjoying every day with their family! If we are having a good time, then I sure hope you are!
OH! And just so you don't feel bad for me. Look what I am missing out on by not being with monkeybutt! I miss him a little and then I remembered this!
Rock on Cooper!
Happy Ampuversary,
Angel Comet
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Angel Comet... thank you so much for remembering me on my special day! I have enjoyed the day with my pawrents, I had a sweet potato with my supper and some cookies too. And lots of extra hugs and kisses tonight!
But one of my best presents today so far has been my messages from you! I have had a sweet spot in my doggie heart for you since I met you, and of course respected Fortis and his knowing you first.
Those of us that are partying here are thinking of those of you partying there and we are so happy that you are all running free and happy and swimming to your hearts content!
Thanks so much for the special ampuversary wishes!
Oh and wow!! That Monkeybutt REALLY is annoying!!

Way to go Cooper and Coopers Dad!!
Don't ever feel bad about posting good news. Maybe sometimes the party will be a bit tempered, but it is still important to post and celebrate each milestone.
We are family. We grieve the losses together and we celebrate the victories together. It is the strength of this community that we can be here for each other through the entire journey.
So- for Cooper, Cemil, and Trouble the 26th will always mean whooo hooo!!!
Karen and the pugapalooza
Congratulations Cooper!! It's really important to celebrate ampuversaries, birthdays, adoption days and anything else that makes us happy. I look forward to everyone's good news, and I know it helps those just starting this journey. I know Sadie is watching us celebrate and is happy that she gets as many treats as she wants (No need to worry about being lean because of her amp) So I hope you enjoyed your sweet potato and treats, I'm going to go give Ranger and Athena some now in your honor!
Lisa, Ranger, Athena and Sprit Sadie
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Hey Cooper--congratulations on your ampuversary!! We're honored to share it with you.
More treats for everyone!!
Cemil and mom Mary, Mujde and Radzi….appreciating and enjoying Today
Hey Coop, way to go, celebrate away baby, you've earned it. Don't be bashful, everyone here knows what this crap puts you through, NOT celebrating would be worse than hoopin' it up, BIG PAWS UP to you and your dad, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Happy 3-month ampuversary Cooper! I totally know what you mean about feeling conflicted about sharing good news. Sometimes it takes a little encouragement from our Spirit Tripawds to get us to share good news, even amidst all the tragedies.
3-months is a MAJOR milestone. I am thrilled that things are going well for Cooper and hope that he has many, many ampuversaries ahead. Hope you did some major celebrating.... Nova toasts your milestone with a delicious beef trachea!
Keep kickin' cancer's butt, buddy!
