Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
It's only fitting I post my goofy first post!
Sparks – cruciate ligament surgery on three legged dog
My 3 legged Comet had to have both done within 2 years of each other. She is a 37 lb corgi/golden lab mix with a front deformed leg that doesn't function. We had the TPLO surgery done. The first surgery was traumatic. With a deformed front leg I was afraid of wire crates because the deformed foot could get caught. I bought soft sided crates and that helped but she really couldn't see out too well. Carrying her up and down stairs and having her by my side was difficult. My vet insisted she not do anything for 8 weeks. I was scared to death since a specialists had came in to do the surgery. When her second ligament tore, I was petrified to do it again but did. This time my husband and I got smart and made a crib on wheels. We had old wooden baby bed without legs that we added a bottom to that was sturdy and added heavy duty wheels. We then put a stretch mesh cover on top so she couldn't jump up. (a bungy car thingy you buy to hold down stuff) We padded the inside so her legs wouldn't get caught in the rails. She really liked it since it wasn't enclosed too much and she could be next to us at all times. It saved our backs.
I'm sure admin regrets their follow up post in hindsight!

the monkeydogs only THINK they have invaded the tripawd state
I've been a bit 'off' on posting the last few days - our sleepess nights this week really took a toll. I have no idea how I missed this post. I think I don't see all the new posts sometimes (a feature of the last upgrade I'm thinking).
Happy, happy, 2000 Comet! Im's so glad to know you are here with me.

Hmmm… doubtful, but anything is possible. We believe that issue had been resolved, but if you're still having issues, please review your settings for displaying the Admin bar and unread postss then update this topic.

Hey! My picture keeps saying "62" posts. There is a conspiracy against Monkeydogs!
PS. I know we have our differences, Comet, and I will always be on Monkeybutt's team, but I decided to put our differences aside to tell you that I know my spirit brother, Opie, thought you were the bestest girl dog, ever. Don't be sad, Holly, Nova, Maggie, and the rest of you tripawd, girl-dogs, he loved you too, but Comet was his kindred spirit...just like MONKEYBUTT IS MINE!
Okay, that said, that gloves are off again. Monkeydogs are the supreme rulers, Tripawds are just TOOL-ers. heh heh heh.

If you mean the post count under your avatar, it now says 63. The number will always be the same wherever your avatar appears in these forums, and will update every time you publish a new post. See what happens when you post another reply, silly monkeyface!
