I don't feel like I did anything special by rescuing her because she made me a better, less selfish person.
It must have been "kismet", just look at how homely she was as a puppy! 
You guys are the best!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Congratulations to you both! It's so amazing when one simple action (like going to that shelter) ends up changing both of your lives. That is so special! I can't wait to meet Comet (and for Ranger to meet her!) Comet, you are even more beautiful now than you were back then! And Ge'Lena, you look like you haven't aged a day (what's up with that 
) Happy Anniversary!!!!
Lisa, Ranger, Athena and Spirit Sadie
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

And tell that monkey whatever thing that Comet may have been only $10 to start, but if you figure out how much per pound she has cost with 12 years worth of vet bills she is, well, PRICELESS!!!!

Happy 12 years together! As I read the story of Comet I could relate, Ruby didn't come from a shelter but a puppy mill and suffered emotional and medical issues as well. There is such a connection when you have a dog such as these but the love they give you back makes every moment with everything that you do for them worth it all.
Congrats to you both as you celebrate 12 years of your lives together.

I lay ya odds that you won't say that afterwards! I'm telling you she is rotten! And don't say anything to mommy because I love her so much but I think it's mommy fault! Everything revolves around Comet here!
