Yesterday was Champ's 7 month ampuversary.
I am so happy he is still with us but have noticed he's slowing down a lot lately. He doesn't wake me up anymore in the morning, sleeps a lot more. I am hoping it's just the antihistamine (allergies) or his ear infection that is the cause. But his appetite is still great and his tail wags as much as ever, and he still begs for his belly rubs. He still loves going out for walks in the yard too. We know there are lung mets now but he has not had any coughing or difficulty breathing so that is a good sign I am guessing.
We are taking it a day at a time. This time last year we were struggling with his diagnosis and getting his spleen removed. At that time the vets gave us 1 - 2 months... good thing they don't know anything... LOL...
He is enjoying his time with his sister Lady and his new foster-sister Peaches.
Keep your paws crossed for us.

Happy happy ampuversary Champ and family! 7 months IS a long way from 1 or 2 months, we are sooooo glad that those vets were wrong 🙂
I hope for Champ that they continue to be very very wrong!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
Happy 7 month ampuversary Champ! That's just awesome! Sorry to hear that you have lung mets now but just know that there's still lots of life after lung mets. Sounds like you're doing great and we will most definitely be keeping our paws crossed for you.
Sending lots of golden hugs your way!
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Tail wagging is a good thing. Sounds like Champ and Tate, share a very special date! Cheers.

Hoppy 7 months to you!
-Chloe's mom
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Happy 7 Months to you Champ!
Just keep living that "one day at a time" and everything will be great! We'll send you lots of pawsitive thoughts in the meantime!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
I really thought I had responded here, but guess it was a dream. Happy 7th ampuversary, Champ! We are so proud you take one day at a time and are doing so well. Wishing you many, many more celebrations to come.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

So glad the vets were wrong! Sounds like Champ is a happy boy. Way to go, Champ!
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
