Just want to send out a special salute to mothers of all kinds in light of Mother's Day. For several of us that means only having kids that shed and don't talk back (some don't, mine do), we are a mothers nonetheless.
And even though my mom doesn't own a computer, I want to acknowledge my own mother who has endured so much heartache this week. She lost her 2nd husband, friend and confidant in an accident this week. As she left his funeral, her only brother was put in the hospital and is in the final moments of his life. She's seen a lot of tragedy in her life and I hope she can once again find the strength to carry on.
Happy Mother's Day to everyone!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Thanks so much for the lovely tribute to all of us moms out there (I'm in the camp with the kids that shed 🙂 )
So so sorry and very sad to hear about your Mother's husband and brother and what she must be going through right now. This just must be so devastating. She is definitely in my thoughts and prayers. My heart goes out to her.
With my deepest condolences to your Mom, you and your family.
Kami
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Comet's Mom,
Please pass on my condolonces to your Grandma, and also to your Mom.
I have been blessed with both kinds of kids, furry and non, although when I think about it my boys have all had periods of furry! I would not trade a single one of either kind. Even with all the pain of losing Emily I feel so truely lucky to have had so many to love, and be loved by.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you.
Debra
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
We are always here for you, and will keep you and your family in our hearts and prayers. And Happy Mother's Day to you, too! We hope Comet and MB give you a day with no backtalk!
We hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day with their kids - furry or not!
Hugs,
Holly and Holly's mom
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Ge'Lena;
I'm so sorry for your mother's loss, and yours too. Indeed a heartbreaking series of events. You and your mom are in our thoughts and prayers.
And Happy Mothers' Day to you, too. I am blessed with 1 non-furry (yet) child, and 3 very furry (and shedding) children - and will very much miss my two furry Angels who are not with me this Mothers' Day.

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

Thank you all so much for your very sweet heartfelt words.
My uncle passed away yesterday surrounded by family at home.
I told my mom of the kind words that were said on here and she was touched...touched by the kindness of strangers that would take the time to write a heartfelt note. I will print them for her since was looking forward to reading them.
So, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Ge'Lena

I am so sorry to hear your uncle lost his battle. Your family has had much tragedy in a short time. My wish is that all of you will find the happy memories replacing the sorrow in a short time.
