Faith, Cooper's mom just wrote me a very special Comet poem. And Annie, Ginger's mom also wrote me one right after Comet passed which I haven't shared yet.
From the absolute bottom of my heart, I thank you both. Your words are a treasure. They are something I can look at when I am feeling down. Thank you so much.
Cometdog
Twinkle, Twinkle little Star.
Precious Comet what a wonder you are.
You took my heart and made it whole.
From the first moment in time, you were my star.
Beautiful white fur and pretty pink bows,
Your heart and mine, they beat as one.
I knew when you were happy, or when you were sad
I knew each bark, each whine, and I feel so bad.
Dear, Dear Comet, you left me so swiftly,
I had no warning, that you would not stay with me.
I look into the night sky,
The stars shining so brightly.
My heart can see you shining, up in the night sky.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Comet Baby
I want you to know, you will always be with me.
2011 Faith Blackburn
COMET
As I looked up in the sky, I saw
a Comet streak right by. An
exciting phenomenon it was to
see. A most unusual, rarity
because this is a dog that is so
original, one only comes along
once in a lifetime. The love for
Comet is so strong, we’ll talk about
it for years to come. From here on
in I’ll be aware, more than ever before.
For as I stare into the night, I wouldn’t
want to miss another glimpse of that
special girl in pink, as she might give
us a knowing wink, showing all of us
left on this earth that she is at peace.
Hugs to you and your family,
Deanndre, Brian and Ginger
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
And now I share this:
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.

Now that is a beauitul tribute!
Thanks for making us smile from Doggie Heaven, Comet.
We actually made flourless peanut butter cookies in your honor today.
Yum! We think everpawdy else should make your recipe too!
Cometdog's Easy and Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
1 large egg
3/4 cup of sugar
1 cup of peanut butter (creamy is better)
Mix egg and sugar until creamed first – then mix in peanut
butter. Roll into balls and flatten with fork or bottom of glass.
Cook for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. (1 minute less if it's a dark
cookie sheet)
Done. It's so easy! And to me, so much better than regular
peanut butter cookies. The old recipe called for 1 cup of sugar but I
think they are too sweet. They are almost like the insides of a
Reese's peanut butter cup but look just like a peanut butter cookie.

Is it a coincidence that Comet and cookie both start with the letter "c"? I think not!!! That is the cutest video! I also love the poems! I will be making some cookies soon! Ranger and Athena thank you in advance
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Thank you for sharing! Those poems are so special. Annie & Faith - you did a great job.
If Trouble could have peanut butter, I'd make her some cookies - but alas she can't. I wonder if she could do almond butter? May give it a try.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Aww Comet,
C is for Comet, we send cookie dreams to you today, may you have all the cookies you could wish for. Say hello to all of our furry family and friends for us. If you get a chance, say hello and play a little with my Jazzy for me, I think of her all the time.

Love Never Ends
Beautiful words, great video for our very special Comet. As I look into the night sky and I see two stars close together shining brightly then I will no that Comet and Ruby are there together shinning down at us.
Jo Ann & Tasha
Tasha 8 years old, First cancer diagnosis 6/26/09, Last cancer diagnosis 9/26/09, Amputation 10/01/09, Loving our girl moment by moment.
Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….
I'm kinda miss Comet, too but not her meanness! Geeze - Louise, she was rotten! I walked into this house when I came to my new home from the pound and spotted her problem right off the bat! (keen monkeyeyes!) And it had nothing to do with her tripawdness!
She was S-P-O-I-L-E-D!!!
So, here's my monkeybutt take:
Cookies spoiled Comet!
Let's all say it together...
Cookies spoiled Comet!
I'll tell you monkeybuttler... it just sounds to me like you need some cookies, and maybe some spoiling too.. as far as me, C is for cookies! Thats good enough for me! HEY -- Cooper starts with c too! thats good enough for me!!

Kami, Angel M, Kobe
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Thank you all for your responses!
