YAY Jeather! That was womderful! You blew those myths to pieces and then shredded 'em up some more!! Big sogs, older dogs----ha! No problem!

And I'm with you o sayig some dogs are even happier after amputtion....happy Hanna sure is. I had no idea how badly that "leg" was bothering her and affecting her ever so subtly until it was chpped off! Glad you didn't use the chopped off term in your article........it's oly for tripawd hmor!

You'll never k ow the i pact that article had on those who read it....those who may face similar circumstaces......just know you did have an impact and probavly saved a few loves in the meantime! Not too shabby, huh?

And we got to see pictures again! YAY!
(Hey' when you get a chance, go look at Hannah's slimmed down pictures under "Eating Healthy_----Jerry's tripawd humor regarding placement---------she's lost THREE OUNCES) I'm so shameless whe it comes to bragging aboutjer:-)

Thanks Heather!

Sally and Happ Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

"Look, Mom, I'm famous!" Is what Barret said when he saw that Tripawds posted about my article :)

So glad I did you guys justice! Being a part of this community has been wonderful. I hope I can help as many people as much as all of you helped me!

Hannah lost 3 whole ounces??? Woo hoo! I wish I could lose even one ounce, lol!!! Look out Sally, this week we might just bring the red ball out to celebrate 1 month! I'll be sure to snap some photos for ya.

I am always looking for follow up my blogs.. any MYTHS that I missed that I should write about?

Thanks for reading big-grin

Heather (and Barret)

Barret was diagnosed with Hemangiopericytoma May 16, 2013. Front left leg/scapula/pectoral muscle was amputated on June 11, 2013 and we've never looked back. Follow our story on http://barret.t.....pawds.com/ and read my column on That Pet Blog

Hmmm...I think the myth that cancer is a death sentence is a good one to approach. Cancer is not automatically a death sentence and maybe something about how people can stay calm during the initial diagnosis. I know that's a very big topic! I'll try to think of something less daunting.

Hey Rene, Thanks for the suggestions!! I like the idea that cancer isn't a death sentence. Far too many people assume the worst once they hear "Cancer" from the vet.

I did initially write a cancer post "Dog Cancer: What to do when your dog has cancer" but I didn't cover that angle at all. What an oversight!

On the docket I have an additional nutrition blog post about the links between poor diet and cancer (if any.. more research needs to be done) and an article about the benefits of massage. Barret has yet to be receptive to massage again so I've been waiting on that one for some first hand experience.

Sending my love to everyone :)

Heather

I think Rene had a great topic.  But that can be a huge one to tackle.  :)
