Sandwiched between the esteemed company of Rio the Woo and Cowboy Bud, we proudly announce Dakota's 11-month ampuversary! The other night we celebrated Rio's by splitting a Twinkie between Dakota and Evelyn (the first Twinkie in my house since 1976). It was such a hit that we will repeat the process tonight in Dakota's honor. Anyone else out there hiding contraband junkfood under your bed or in your sock drawer, you have permission to eat some tonight. Don't eat it all at once, though, because Bud's nipping at our heels.
February will be a big month around here when the Furballs turn a calendar page, so get your pawty clothes to the cleaners! For the tripawds, clothes are optional, but I must insist the humans wear pants.
Shari, Dakota and Evelyn the Embarrassment
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/
When I read your title, I was really 'cited cuz I thought maybe we got to send Zeffy the Wrecking Ball to your house for a visit. Darn -- you were talking about REAL Twinkies, not the kind with 4 legs and a conehead that chase their shiny friends and crash into everything including ME. Oh well, enjoy your Twinkie, D-Dawg, you certainly have earned it. Mom says we get to have some chicken later to celebrate for you!
I'll be getting my tiara polished for the pawty next month! Can't wait!!!

Yea Dakota Dawg!!
It's ok if the Twinkies are from 1996, they never go bad. After the nuclear winter there will be cockroaches and Twinkies.
Ok- its still January, right? Are you guys starting early or just being liberal in your interpretation of February?
I don't care really what the date is- I'm always up for a celebration!
Karen and the pugapalooza
Karen, we are celebrating 11 months today, but certainly thinking ahead to the big Year next month. So today you can give Tani and Obie some goodies for 11 months. And let them know next month they get a big party because there are a lot of Furballs to celebrate!

Oh, I get it now. Sorry, I'm at work at the end of the day and not thinking too clearly. The Feb title threw me....
That being said I think we then party every day from now until the February dates... sort of a FebFur Ball advent calender. Every day we find a reason to down a Twinkie!
Karen the calender challenged
Yaaay! Congratulations Dakota, you're kickin' butt. Must be that city life?
I agree with Karen, let's just get this pawty started NOW and keep on until the 11th of February!

Happy Ampuversary, Dakota! Zuzu is by my side demanding some cheese and other goodies to help you celebrate. And we certainly will celebrate!
Hugs,
Holly, Zuzu and Susan
PS - Holly agrees with everyone that it sounds like we need to celebrate from now through February. Cheese, naps, twinkies... you name it and she's game!
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

11 months!!!!!
I'm going to assume we are counting down to 12? I'm up for making the next 30 days a celebration (if there is food involved)!
YAY! Dakota!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
No twinkies in the house but I have mint chip! (Going to gain a lot of weight - what with the Abby Tribute double-double I ate today, not to mention the shake... and now mint chip, plus the month long celebration to get to the big One Year Ampuvesary... The things we do for our pups!)
Congratulations Dakota! We are looking forward to the Big Pawty next month. (Not gonna fit in my pawty dress though... Pawty sweat pants anyone??)
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
