Wow. We are at Colorado State Vet Teaching Hospital today for a rehab visit with Wyatt Ray , and we just had the honor of meeting Lilly, a NINE YEAR osteosarcoma survivor! This Great Pyreneese beauty was diagnosed in 2009 at 14 months old. She's had 2 lung lobectomies and is STILL rockin on 3. What a joy to be able to smooch all over this pretty pup:

We're going to interview her humans in the near future, they live nearby. But in the meantime hop on over to CSU's newsletter and check out Lilly's story for some inspawration. Yes folks, it IS possible to beat the odds!

Way to go Lilly! What an incredible story and a huge inspiration. The Mason 's have certainly done an incredible job and have given Lilly every opportunity to beat the odds. I can't wait to learn more when you interview them. It sounds like they have helped lots of animals. Just one year away from the record, I wonder who holds that honor?
I just loved getting to read her story tonight thanks so much for sharing it here.

PS How did Wyatt Ray 's visit go?
Isn't that a pawesome story Amy? I feel lucky today just knowing I touched that girl's soft fur! I don't know who holds the honor of the longest-living survivor, that's a good question I'll ask Lily's parents when I interview them.
Wyatt's doing well, thanks for asking! We'll share an update soon but basically he's in pretty good shape and the rehab has been working. We're on our own now, he doesn't have to go back for more sessions unless we see changes. I'll share more in a bit.
