(I posted this yesterday and it vanished, unless I just messed it up...entirely possible.)
Saturday was Dakota's 4-month ampuversary, but we weren't home to write about it. Dakota celebrated on the road. The whole doggone family went to the doggie expo in Ft. Collins and helped Wyatt show off the Tripawd goodness at his booth. We hung out with Mr. Admin Guy and Spirit Jerry's typist. Evelyn was there to show an example of a monkeydog and she was very effective at that, as many people wanted to pet the ugly bulldog and ignore Wyatt and Dakota. They got their snuggles, too, but Evelyn needed some ears...big, pink and white ears.
After that was over, we wagon-trained behind Wyatt and trekked across hill and dale, over the river and through the woods, and into the great wide open to Wyatt's summer digs. Controlled chaos ruled the weekend. Evelyn was bossy and snarky and totally embarrassed herself. Dakota proved to be every bit as neurotic as I've indicated in the forums (toldja). Wyatt spent most of the time trying to figure out why he was being invaded and what he should do about it. I said it reminded me of working at a residential home for teens with emotional disorders (not that I've ever done that). Between the 2 neurotic boydogs and the bossy monkeydog, we were busy.
Spirit Jerry's typist and Mr. Admin Guy are a great cooks, by the way, and sent us home with yummy leftovers (homemade pizza and blueberry pancakes). My human boy enjoyed the vittles and the climbing places outside. He had a great time, he said. We appreciated the hospitality and the fact that nobody said "what awful dogs you have" while we were there!
Dakota plans to update his blog today and write about his weekend. As of last night, he was still kind of hungover and in fratboy mode. Evelyn does not care that she was embarrassing. She seems pretty proud of it. She was on the fence for a long time about whether or not she is a monkeydog. This weekend, she was a monkeybutthead.
Thanks again to Team Tripawds for a fun weekend, and we'll see you all next month at the fancy-schmancy dog park!

Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Oh my, it sounds like puppy heaven, walking, eating, treating, and getting to be a dog! I am glad you all had fun and really want to see some pictures.

Micki--You're being sarcastic, right? I hope so! Evelyn doesn't have a dainty or demure bone in her body.

Obie,
Evelyn is asleep right now under the table, so she can't write you back. But you're right, she is a big girl. She isn't fat, though. She's what we call "solid." Evelyn has a waist, but she also has a chest. If you like busty wimmen, she might just be for you. I'll let her know she needs to write you back. She always likes to hear from you.
