Today is Abby's 10 month ampuversary! We've made it to Double Digits.
We are not having too exciting of a day though... Normally we would be at the beach right now, but yesterday she gave us a little scare... She face-planted twice while running at the beach. Normally she is VERY agile and quick, but it worried us, and then she acted a little strange at home - hopping around quite slowly and just not seeming like herself. Yesterday was pretty much the hottest day we have had here yet (it had been a cool summer at our house until just the other day) so I'm hoping it was just that the heat got to her and that she maybe tweaked her leg a little when she took the tumble.
Of course, as soon as I decided today that she should stay home and take it easy, she started racing around chasing a fly - so I'm assuming the leg doesn't hurt or she wouldn't do that, no?? Anyway, it is supposed to be hot again today so I think we will just take it easy and hopefully be back at the beach tomorrow.
I can't help the sinking feeling that the cancer has spread to her good front leg... I keep looking at it seeing (imaginary??) strange swelling, but hopefully that is totally not the case (and is just my paranoia). Hopefully Boris & Natasha (what I call her 2 lung mets) are still all alone in there...
We will at least break out a Frosty Paw to celebrate making it to DOUBLE DIGITS!!! Whoohoo! This was a big one - I really wanted to hit those double digits... Now our next BIG goal is ONE YEAR. Come on, Ab, you can do it!
Hope all your pups are doing well and your angels are sending their love in little special messages,
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
yeah to 10 months hope boris and natasha don't have any friends and here's to a year. Hope it is just the heat that was effecting her

Abby baby! I am so happy for you! You're getting love from all over. Now here's some from those Colorado Rocky Mountain highs! I've had my eyes on those shortbread cookies and the Woman can't say no 'cause it's double digit day for you! Maybe she'll give us 10 cookies!
Love, Dakota (and I have to put Evelyn's name here, too but I don't really want to)
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/
Abby - Congratulations!!!! Woo Hoo!!! Keep it up Sweetie - you are a big bright shining star!
And I think you have just a little strain in that front leg - no worries. Just slow down a bit sometimes girlie. You are a Ms Speedy!
Ah, Monkeybutt-bunny Vampire Pirate, a great video just leave out the Not! next time 😉

Abby says: "Thanks everypawdy for telling my silly mom not to stress out on my special day. No beach! Sheesh! Can you believe it??? But at least I got a Frosty Paw. Hopefully tomorrow we will get to go to the beach again. Mom says we'll see. I think that means yes! And Monkeybutt-bunny, thank you VERY much for my super special video!! It is pawsome! I saw your secret message in the video! Ya know how 'God' backwards is 'dog' - well, 'not' backwards is 'ton' and I know you really love me a ton. You just don't want to admit it cuz you have to look cool since you are the Monkeybutt leader. I understand that. It wouldn't be right if you let on to all the other Monkeybutts that your best friend in the world was a TRIPAWD! With extra special Tripawd Girl Power! It's OK Monkeybutt-bunny... your secret is safe with me. I won't tell anybody... Kisses to everyone! Abby"
Jackie, Abby's mom says: "Thanks everyone for the nice messages! I really do hope I'm just being a little paranoid about her leg. I'm hoping she'll be back to her usual terrorist self tonight and nibbling my toes while I try to relax on the couch. We'll see... And thank you very much Monkeybutt-bunny for our special video! I love it - I already watched it three times! Where the heck did you find that song?? It sounds like something that Muppets rock band might have sung. You guys are the best!"
