Dakota received a package today, his second from the Angel Exchange. This was Spirit Sadie's life vest. I adjusted it and think it will fit D just fine. Sometime around Labor Day, when we get some warm weather, I'll see what Dakota thinks of it. He's not much of a swimmer ordinarily, but I really think this will help his boredom and strength.
Thank you Lisa for letting Dakota have your angel's life vest. I appreciate it very much and am honored to have Dakota wear it. I will think of her every time I see it.
Shari and Dakota
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Looking sharp there Dakota! looking forward to seeing some pictures when you get to try it out, it wont be long until the water warms up enough!

charon & gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Ooooh- very stylish Dakota! Can't wait to see it floating in action.
Shari- how does Dakota do wearing it? Way back when Maggie was still a quad we took her out in a boat and put a float coat on her just in case (pugs don't swim well- chest heavy and no long nose to snorkel with!). She hated wearing anything- but really, really hated the float coat . She locked her legs and wouldn't move. We had to put her in the boat, where she stood the whole time giving me the evil eye. Once we hit land again and took it off she was her old self. When we went back to the boat and the float coat she did the statue routine again. She liked water- waded all the time, even would swim a little- but no float coat !
Karen and the pugapalooza
Karen, when I put this on Dakota, he did act weird. He tries to hide when I grab the RuffWear harness, but once it's on him he's fine. This one, well...he kind of plodded around the house and acted like he was the dog version of the Michelin man or something. Maybe he felt bulky, even though he didn't look it. Evelyn avoided him, too, like she thought it was too weird to even bark at. That's saying something. I have no idea what he will do if I put him in a boat and ease him into the water, but I hope to find out!

What a great gift, Lisa!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
I think he's looking like he wants to go swimming!
What a beautiful community we have here.

Laura, Kali and Angel Tai
Tai – 9 yr old lab. Diagnosed Osteosarcoma Dec 18/09. Front right leg amputated Dec 21/09. Started chemo Jan 7/10. Lung mets discovered Sept 16/10. Valiant to the end on Oct 26/10 when cancer reappeared in a leg and we made the decision to set her free. Forever in my heart where not even cancer can take her from me.
It will feel much less bulky when he's in the water . That being said, Sadie was never in the water with it. She just wore it around the pool because I didn't know if she could swim. She really seemed to enjoy wearing it (I think when I put it on her she thought she was going for a car ride (let's hope that's NOT what Dakota thinks!)
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Kami, Angel Mackenzie and Kobe
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
