Congrads Ajax!!! you are a tripawd rock star extaordinaire!! We knew tripawds were trendy - we just were keeping it a secret!
Luanne and Shooter
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Just went back to look at the jotos again (I'm a true dog and cat photoholic!)
Look at the one with Ajax and Wayne playing with the beautiful ocean as their backdrop.......look at how their pawprints lead right up the middle to te two of them! I LOVE this photo!
Give Wayne's mom a big hug from is too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Hey Ajax!!!
Congratulations!!! Sorry I haven't been online in a while. Can only get on when I'm at work as for some reason, my new computer doesn't allow me to click on the subjects and read and I haven't figured out why yet!?
As for PT work for your 'stubborness', Ajax...how about a couch cushion laying on the floor? Cheap and large enough to accomodate your size. Not too soft but some firmness to it. Some sort of foam that maybe you could find cheap enough somewhere. Wish you were near me, I'd come help you get him to "love" a fitpaws balance disc. Do you have one? I can't remember... If you do, put the least amount of air in it as the more air, the more difficult it is.
Take a look at the 2nd video on this blog. PM me for ideas if you want more help!

Hi, thanks to
-- all for the well wishes - NYC weather has cooperated by dropping the temperature about 20 degrees, making for a very happy birthday boy
-- Tracey for the exercises. We've watched some of that before. We have the blue pads but he just steps over them! We don't have a bosu ball (I would need serious motivation to try to store that thing in my tiny box of an apartment) or room for the agility course. Too bad, because I think it would be easier to convince him to do the outdoor agility work; he doesn't really think there is any point to standing on the wobbly stuff, so he just looks at me like I'm nuts and sits down or steps over it. We do walk a lot in Central Park which helps some, I think, in that it is uneven with small and big hills and wobbly ground -so at least there is that.
-- Admin for the exercise post which I see on the side
-- Rene et all for the blue birthday bandana!
-- and for benny55 above- we took one of the pawprint photos (tri-paw print, with my husband's footprints next to it) and blew it up and framed it. Looks cool.
Is Ajax food motivated at all? I bet you can get him to stand on the pads and not walk over them if you put treats on them...or better yet, do you clicker train? Once he knows that those pads and wobbly things "pay well" he won't get off them!

Tracy - you are too funny. Is my Labrador food motivated? Umm - YES! But that is the thing, he runs off the pad to get to the food. I don't know why it's so difficult - he is very well trained and will do many things. He just won't do THESE things. No idea why - do I have less stamina than when he was a puppy, or is he just older and craftier (I mean wiser ...). I think it's the latter. I do use the food for the side bends and will start doing that under the leg one that is in your video. And try to get him to play on some steps as suggested by someone above. But seriously - he is smart and he is strong and he is stubborn! (but awesome)
