Today is Abby's 14 month Ampuversary. It is also one year ago that we saw the tiniest beginning of what for a long time was The Lone Met. Unfortunately, she now has three "lung mints" and they are causing her no end of trouble, what with the stupid Hypertrophic Osteopathy and what not.... but we still celebrate. Please celebrate with us. Anyone who is within driving distance of an In N Out burger, hope you can treat your pup to a Flying Dutchman in Abby's honor (and, of course, you may as well get yourself a Double Double while you are there...)
If you are not within range of an In N Out, your choice of very favorite treat will do.
Abby had a great Christmas, which you can read about here. Hope you all did too!
Hooray for our Tripawd Warrior Princess!!! We love our pretty girl!
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
So glad to hear Abby is still kicking cancer's butt! She is a true inspiration! I just read Abby's blog, and I'm so glad she had a nice Christmas! The cute pup on the stocking does look a lot like Abby. Here's to many more celebrations with your beautfiul girl, which hopefully will include lots of trips to the beach followed by a nice burger! (Or two!!)
Happy 14 month ampuversary Abby!! That's awesome news!! We will definitely be celebrating in your honor! Here's to many many more ampuversaries and celebrations!!
Kami, Angel Mackenzie, Kobe and Scarlett
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
No In and Out here, but Zeus will have a jerky treat in celebration with you. Abby is such an inspiration to us (not to mention one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen)!
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Oh Most beautiful TWP Abby,
My heart's desire, my one and only, kickin' cancer's ass like only a true tripawd warrior princess can! Mom sez its too late to go for In 'N Out 'cause we have already had our dinners but she's gonna let us have some Paw Patch Pastries! I met the nice lady that makes them at the Morris Walk in Los Gatos and she sent me some of her awesome good treats 'cause she likes me. If we promise not to kill each other she might let us have some of the.......gasp.......beef trachea.......that a certain dawg sent me 'n the pack for Christmas!
Wish we could pawty with you in person but our virtual pawty gonna rock da house!
