Congratulations Trouble on the big 12/24. I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating your very special day. I know we will in your honor.
We finally got some cool weather Shanna. It's going to be a beautiful weekend. I hope you guys are able to spend some time outside enjoying it. Trouble and you are both in my book.
Fortis'Dad
Thank you guys! I had this prepared for a post, but since Miss Ge beat me to it, I'll just post it here – certainly no need for two topics on the same thing (even if she is the most amazing, special girl).
On this amazing 2 year ampuversary and
Thanksgiving week, as we celebrate being two years cancer free, I
feel the need to talk about all the things we are thankful for. This
journey has taught me to recognize and acknowledge even the small
blessings in my life.
Some of the things we are forever
thankful for
– Dr Dena, who made the original
diagnosis. Had it not been for a quick and accurate diagnosis we may
not be celebrating today.
- Dr F, Trouble's second opinion
doctor, who would be her surgeon, would administer her chemo, and
faithfully watch over her needs. We are immensely thankful for your
gentle care and steady support and guidance.
- Our special forum friends who stood
with us in this fight. Pit Bull Talk and Tripawds have been awesome
forces in our lives as we faced this journey.
- Our friends and family, some who may
have been skeptical when this all started, but stood beside us
because it was important to us.
In an effort to keep this a reasonable
length, I won't try to address everyone individually. Suffice it to
say if you are reading this, you are one of the wonderful persons who
helped us make it to this day. You touched us in some way. You gave
us support or guidance. You shared your experiences. You calmed our
fears. You taught us to live in the day We are blessed to have you
in our lives and on this journey with us.
Trouble is doing as well as can be
expected of a 12 year old, arthritic, three legged, incredibly
spoiled dog. She's a little grouchier than she was in years past, not
quite as spry as she once was, she has some bad days along with the
good, she takes supplements and medication for the arthritis, but
overall she is good and we are thankful.

Shanna, Bob, Trouble, and Duke,
No two ways about it, this is one very special day of celebration. I was so excited that I did not go out to any of the "Black Friday" sales. Shows where my priorities are located, but since Miss Cherry was the second in the November Five, we have a very special reason to celebrate Trouble's wonderful milestone. Extra hugs, Extra Playtime, Extra Special Treats, and Both ICE CREAM and GREEN BEANS. Yep, it sounds like we have everything under perfect control for the celebration. The weather here is bright and crisp (by Northern California Standards), which helps us with our frame of mind for this wonderful day. We could not be any happier that you have reached this milestone, and being able to celebrate with a 12 year old, arthritic, three legged, incredibly spoiled dog is where we all would want to be. We lift a special toast today for Trouble.
We could not be happier that you continue to "Beat Cancer One Day at a Time!"
