I have a 8 month old miniature Australian Shepherd that was attacked by a coyote Tuesday 1-8-13 and had to have her right back leg amputated she has puncture wounds all over her neck and a couple are real deep when she woke up form sugury she vomited a little bit and they found she has a hole in her esophagus the vet withheld food and water for few days to help it heal but now she is showing signs of infection in her stump but she may get to come home tomorrow
Welcome and best wishes for your pup's speedy recovery! What's her name?

The poor thing! And poor you to have to deal with all these problems all at once. Well, this community is here to support and help! Boy, I hope she heals really soon and can come home to her parents for some extra special TLC! Stay strong, pup!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
Sorry to hear about Zoey. I hope the infection heals up quickly. This is a great site for info and support. We will help you where we can.

Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
Whooooaaah! A coyote? Oh my gosh I'm so glad she survived!
Hang in there. I know you're in a scary place but she will heal and you can put this awful incident behind you. I hope the infection goes away quickly.
