It's been months since Yoda's been to the park!  And those trips were when Yoda first started limping, so they probably aren't his best memories of dog park visits.  This was his first pain-free park visit of the year!

This evening was great!  I'd say Yoda was as social as he ever was before the amputation, maybe more so.  It helped that all the dogs there seemed especially sweet.  One Boxer was a little bossy, but he was busy corralling dogs other than Yoda.  Other than the Boxer, Yoda and an old Chocolate Lab were the two biggest troublemakers.  Every now and then they would take turns mounting the air over a very popular little Beagle/Corgie mix.  It was pretty hysterical, especially since the old Chocolate Lab was worse about it than Yoda, so I could be a little less embarrassed.  The little Beagle/Corgie led most of the chases and I was very surprised to see that, for most of the time, Yoda maintained his usual second or third place in the chase.

Yoda took rests and seemed happy to watch the other dogs for a little bit, he took some water (he usually resists), and willingly left after a once-around (he's used to 2-3 times).  It was a great relief to me that he didn't try to burn himself out on his first visit.

I tried to take some pictures, but they're almost all blurry from his running around so much! Big Grin

Yoda's second chemo is tomorrow.  The first one went great.  No side effects, his spirits were good and excellent bloodwork.  Let's do it again, Yoda!

Yoda&Mom united: 9/5/06 …….… Yoda&Leg separated: 6/5/09……… Yoda&Leg reunited: 10/14/09 ……… ……………….………….………….……. Yoda&Mom NEVER separated! …………………….….……....….…… Though Spirit Yoda currently free-lances as a rabbit hunting instructor for tripawds nationwide

Woooo hooo Yoda! Oh that sounds like such a great time!

My pawrents will always remember the day that I went back to my favorite spot, the beach, two months after my amputation. It was that day when I showed them how incredibly resilient we are, and how even if we only went there for 20 minutes (before my amp I would stay for hours), it was a miracle of sorts, and would always be something to celebrate.

I'll bet your friends at the dog park were so happy to see you. Laugh Can't wait to see some pics, even if they are blurry!

Good luck with your chemo tomorrow! Keep us posted.

Isn't it amazing how they play all they can, and even though they get tired quicker, they still enjoy life just watching the others, laying in the sun or cuddling with their humansWinker!  I'm so glad he's having fun and doing well!

Way to go, Yoda!  Have fun.
