Oh, and if you make it to the Old Faithfull Inn, be sure to have a toast with Three Legged Red for us OK?
The family just returned from their second and final trip to Yellowstone. As has been the case for the last three trips, we have been able to add additional geysers to Mom and Dad’s list of those seen, including viewing one of the three eruptions of Morning in June. This was awesome - especially since Morning had not erupted in eighteen years and has not erupted since those three. However, there were disappoints such as Plume which had been an extremely regular hourly performer and a great source of entertainment as Dad does an overnighter on Geyser Hill waiting for the full moonlight eruptions of Beehive and Old Faithful. On August 1, 2012 at 11:21, Plume made its last eruption and has not erupted since. We all hope that Plume is just taking a short rest and has not gone dormant.
We have two traditions for the last day in Yellowstone. The first is to get a pint of Wilcoxson Ice Cream, sit on the porch of the Lower Hamilton General Store in the Upper Geyser Basin, and celebrate all the Ampuversaries for all our TriPawd heroes. This is the same place that Dad and I sat in June 2009 and I was able to meet many of the regular Geyser Gazers. As always, it was again a moving experience for all of us. As the sun started to set, we all headed over to the Old Faithful Inn for the second – to lift a glass of Three Legged Red wine and toast all TriPawd heroes past, present, and future. However, the Inn no longer stocks Three Legged Red, a great disappointment to all. Rather than abandon this tradition, we will just have to say that we altered it, but in NO WAY did it lessen the meaning or emotion of this tradition. We still want to pay tribute to all of these valiant warriors, past, present and future.
May you always be filled with pawsitive thoughts, celebrate each and every day for the gift that it gives, and remain positive in spite of any and all adversity.

Beautifully said. We're glad you made it back to heaven on earth.

Hi Bob & Emily! As always, sounds like you had a great time! That's pretty amazing that you saw a geyser that hadn't gone off for 18 years!!! Glad to hear you all made it back safely (and that there were no natural disasters <img class="spSmiley" title="laughing" onclick="spjEdInsertSmiley('icon_lol.gif', 'laughing', 'https://tripawds.com/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/', '');" src="/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="laughing" /> )!
Hey Bob and Emily,
What do you mean final trip?
We haven't talked about ice cream here much lately- I'll have to remember to introduce it into the next celebration thread. Humm.... its pretty hot here today (as you know) maybe ice cream for dinner and a spoonful toast to Cherry!
