*wave* HIYA I am adopted mom to Xena (who is in my userpic) She is a 3 year old beautiful German Shepherd Dog who was born with 3 good legs. The 4th leg was malformed. It ends just below the elbow and she has a vestigial paw at the end of it. She was at a shelter about 30 miles away and my husband fell in love with her. So we added her to our pack. She is a great alert dog and VERY smart.
Before we found this group, a friend and I were talking about working harnesses for our tracker dog and I found one that works for Xena. Since she only has 1 good front leg, she bounces a LOT when walking. The collar was not working well for her. But she LOVES her harness. She dives into it almost every time you go near her with it.
Oh and she runs in circles... by choice. Big ones, little ones. Lots of circles.

Yes we keep her thin. She stays around 55-60 lbs and the vet likes her at that weight. Less pressure on that good leg. But WOW nothing stops her. She got loose one day and managed to aggrivate the mule mare who chased her back up the hill (over about 5 acres) to the front porch.
Anyway Hiya from AL

Ohhh I'm in love! Welcome! Welcome!
You are doing a fantastic job with her, she is so lucky to have found you.
In looking at her partial limb, she would be a great candidate for a prosthetic. Have you seen our OrthoPets videos? They give the ins and outs of prosthetics , as well as info on a carpal support brace that could really help her stay strong on that one remaining front leg.
Lots of 3-paws up coming your way, Xena Rocks!
