He is gorgeous! Congratulations on that 9 month ampuversary!
I take breaks from here periodically, when I feel it is just becoming overwhelming. The bad part is I miss a lot of good info and cool stories. I really enjoyed reading the research you've done on osteosarcoma and the metastasis not being as prevalent in front legs or when other tissue hasn't been compromised. That probably explains why we were blessed with 27 1/2 months post amputation.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Your story is so interesting and uplifting! My Dobe Nitro had his front amp almost 10 months ago, and is also doing well. We went through an agonizing diagnosis interval (with 4 bone biopsies plus the leg after surgery) that needed special stains to diagnose. The initial feeling was fibroblastic variety and this is what I feel in my heart he has. After months of trying to figure it out, the report came back as osteo, but I have my doubts. So we carry on, in a pawsitive dog-like manner, Loving Life On Three Legs ! Continued good luck to you and Wyatt.
Paula and Nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
"Be good, mama loves you".....run free my beautiful Warrior
Wyatt3 I'm so glad you posted specifically about fibroblastic osteosarcoma. We had Murphy's rear, left leg amputated on October 1, 2015 after a diagnosis of fibroblastic osteosarcoma, low grade. We're waiting for our referral to the oncologist. We know it's important to get started on chemo right away. It's encouraging to see what everyone is posting on this tripawds site. Very informational and pre amputation, it helped me realize that amputation was the right way to go. Murphy got his stitches out yesterday and is doing fantastic. I'll keep you posted on Murphy's journey! Murphy turns 12 on October 16th!
Thanks again for the info!

Wyatt is a beautiful boy! Congratulations on 9 months!
Murphy's hair is grown over his scar, too, so it looks like there never was a leg there, but that tripawd hop gives him away. I sometimes take a break from the site, too ... sometimes it's hard when you read some of the stories. Murphy had histiocytic sarcoma, which is also rare. His prognosis was 12-18 months, but he's had 2 1/2 years, so I get scared and worried when I read some of the long-term survivors leaving us, especially like a few months ago it seemed like we had a few that all left at the same time ...and every time I came on I ended up crying. I've also never started a blog because I've never really been good at writing a diary so I have a hard time with that sort of writing. I do like coming on the forums, though, especially if I can maybe help someone who's scared they're not doing the right thing.

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17
