hi my 5 yr old yorkies had his front left shoulder n leg amputated 2 days ago due to bone cancer. were waiting for biopsy results. i wasnt too bad wen i first picked him up from the vets, but the more i read about the cancer the more worried and unsure wot to do r expect im gettin. has anyone been in the position that could give me any help r reassurance!!!
Everyone here has been in your position. You'll find lots of advice and helpful links in Jerry's Required Reading List or the Tripawds e-book Three Legs And A Spare .
Worry is a silly human emotion that will only make matters worse. What Smokey needs right now is a strong balanced pack leader. He will pick up on your emotions, so please try to remain strong.

Such good advice (above)--it's hard not to worry, especially in the beginning. Smokey does need your strenth right now; read all the info that was suggested and try to enjoy every minute with your handsome boy. We are all here for you, and we all understand!
Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
Hi Wendie, welcome. I'm so sorry you're in this tough spot. I can't believe a little yorkie has been diagnosed with bone cancer, that's so rare.
It's hard not to worry, we understand that. But if you are strong, Smokey will be too. If you show you believe in him, he'll believe in himself. Also, you may not need to worry so much if you are dealing with a less aggressive form of bone cancer. Do the vets have any ideas what kind it is or do you have to wait for the biopsy?
Sounds like he's home with you. How is he doing?
