We had lots of scary incidents like that with Jerry, especially as weather warmed up, so I know how scared you must have been when he came inside. But wow, do you know him like a book or what? You got him to eat and feel better! Your relationship with that boy is one in a million, you are so in tune with Sam. Awesome.

Ya know, with all his "challenges" some of this "slowing down" could simply be the rigors of being a senior catching up with him. Maybe not the eating issue, but certainly the stamina issue. So, in a way, maybe that's a good thing! The rigors of physical exercise, walks, etc. tire seniors out more quickly ...even on a week basis sometimes:-) 
You are, indeed, a best buddy to your Sam as he is to you and I know you are savorig every precious moments t! Just the fact that he's savoring your "slurry crap" is a testament to your tenacious spirit:-)

I thought about you over the weekend when Kermit was on antibiotics & they were making him a little nauseated- he NEVER turns down food of any kind, but there he was, turning his nose up at mom's delectable liver-veggie-quinoa hash. Thankfully I didn't have to resort to such drastic measures!
Your 2-month post was beautiful...congrats on a job well done with the most puppy-looking 13 year old dog ever!
