I am late in offering my sympathy. We had lost our boy at 12 just 3 days before you lost darling Moto at nearly 6 months post amputation and were equally shocked. I was reeling and could not be on the forum very much. In our case, it was unfortunately a return of the cancer, but he had also lost use of his back legs (front amputee) and it was swift and devastating. Nearly two months on and it still is so raw and painful...
Moto was beautiful and so loved and so lucky to have a family willing to undertake that amputation journey with him. But I am sorry that despite your wonderful care of him, you didn't get that gift of extra years. So glad, though, that the 4 months were good ones.

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly. His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.
