It has been one week today since Kasey had her front right leg amputated. She amazes me with how quickly she has adapted. She goes up the stairs without any problem (I still carry her down the stairs), she has started to jump on and off the couch, she walked around the fenced in backyard this weekend, and she is figuring out how to get up and lay down. Best news of all...the vet called with news about her tumor. They sent her leg/tumor to the oncologist to be assessed and it came back as a grade two/grade one tumor. The vet said the findings and behavior read more as a grade one tumor. He believes the reason it was diagnosed at a stage two was only due to the fact of how quickly the tumor appeared. He said everything else looks great on Kasey (blood work, x-rays, and lymph nodes). So fingers crossed, Kasey should be good
Danell and Kasey
Way to go Kasey! What a cutie. My Libby is a right front amp as well. Going down stairs is always tougher. That's fantastic she is doing this well so soon. Just be careful that she doesn't overdo it and still gets lots of rest. Best of luck to you both!
Amy & Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Thanks everyone! I will get some pictures on here soon. I have been busy with Kasey (of course), working, and I am also working on my dissertation in education. I live in NC (originally from IL) and we are getting snow right now and are supposed to get ice tomorrow. I got off work early and I'm sure I will be off tomorrow due to the weather. I will try to get pictures posted over the next couple of days.
