Well, here we are, I hope I don't sound like I'm crying wolf. Gus wasn't out all day and I figured he needed to go out at least to try and do some business, I went to pick him up and he was having no part of that, the tone of the growl was a clear indicator, so, good thing we're one up on these guys, I fixed him, I went and bought a muzzle. Carried his 103 lb butt outside, set him down and off he goes to have a good healthy whiz, and he seemed to be moving half way decent, so he was laying under the tree for awhile scoping out his domain, nice breeze but still humid, but I knew he wanted out, so about five minutes later there he is, back up on the porch from his own power, but he decided it was nicer in here, so maybe we'll dodge another bullet, he did scarf down a hamburger at mach 2. Thanks for the support. Paws up, Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Hoping you dodged that bullet too and that tomorrow is a better day.

Sending prayers for Gus's highest and best outcome, and sending peace to you, Dan.
Daisy, 12 years young, had left forelimb amp on 5/19/2010 due to osteosarcoma. She left her body behind and joined the other spirit tripawds on 7/16/2010.
So grateful for each day with her!

Dan, I'm sorry, I just had to giggle at the muzzle story. You have me thinking I may go get one, just to have on hand. Sure was glad to hear he enjoyed the trip outside once he got there and returned to the house on his on. I know it is terrifying when they just won't get up for hours. Hope the big guy is on his way to feeling better once again.

Dan,
I don't want to divulge personal emails but I did want to send out word that Gus isn't doing too well today (Sunday).
Please keep us posted on what Monday morning brings, please.
It is a roller coaster so you never can tell what can happen. It just may be a bad day.
Thinking of you and your big guy...
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Dan... I'm so sorry to hear that Gus hasn't been feeling himself lately. I really hope that it's just due to the heat and humidity, and nothing more...
Sending you and Gus a big fat hug! Feel better soon Gus!!

My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Dan - our thoughts and prayers are with you and Gus.

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

Dan,
We are new here, my Alexander was just diagnosed. For the last two weeks we have been saying a lot of prayers. We are now sending some up for you and Gus.
I personally cannot even imagine what it is like, but I do know how seeing your pup in pain can wrench your heart. I hope Gus has many a more woodchuck to chase.
I also wanted to comment on how at peace you are with the decisions you've made. I admire your courage and strength.
Paws are crossed!
~Shannon
