Hi everyone,
It has been a little over a month since we were faced with a one of the most difficult decisions we ever had to make. Rosco, our 14 year old was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. We were told that he wouldn't be a good candidate for amputation given his age and a touch of arthritis in his back legs. We were told that it is unfair to put him through amputation; that he couldn't possibly have a high quality of life with three legs. Judging from this video, I think we made the right decision.
Thank you all for your encouragement. I really don't know what I would have done without this amazing group of people.
Yeah, Rosco!!! You show 'em, boy. He looks great!
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
He looks awesome!!!!
Tracy, Maggie's Mom
Maggie was amputated for soft tissue sarcoma 10-20-09
Maggie lost her battle with kidney disease on 8-24-13
WOW! WOW! WOW!
This is just so awesome AND unbelievable! I am just awestruck by Roscoe's spunk, I'd never guess he was 14.
You know we just tell folks, you never ever know. A second opinion is a must if your first vet is in doubt, because at least you've covered all your bases. I'm so glad you guys did. This is just too wonderful not to share, I'm heading over to our Facebook page and putting it up there.
Here's the video (it's easy to embed YouTube videos here in the Forums, just paste the link into your text editor)

Hooray for a great update.
Jackie, angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
He is beautiful. What an awesome ambassador he is. Thank you for sharing. I know this video will make a difference inapt another tripawd life along the way.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Wow is right and 14! So what does your vet have to say now!! Rosco is amazing.
Harley is an 8 year old Golden Retriever. Amp surgery for an infiltrative lipoma canceled due to two masses in chest. A rescue, he found his forever home on 3/18/07 and left for his eternal home on 1/09/13. His story and medical history are at http://myharley.....pawds.com/
I really really really enjoyed that video-- super wow!!!! He looks beyond fantastic- thinking you made a good call there... He is so full of life-- clearly he is one happy pup to be pain free. Keep on running Rosco!
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
OMD! That was awesome. What a wonderful inspiration. Rosco looks like one very happy doggie.
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
Wow Rosco is looking great-keep having fun, Rosco!
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
Love love love seeing that! Thanks for sharing.
Samdog's mom
Samdog was a 10 yr old Golden and retired SAR dog. We found a bone mass on 8/17/12, needle biopsy showed sarcoma 8/22/12, amputation on 8/23/12, post-amp biopsy confirmed osteosarcoma on 8/28/12. Sadly, we found lung mets on 11/27/12 and my Spirit Sam earned his wings on 12/2/12.
We didn't know where we were headed and we don't regret a single step along our path. It all happened too fast, but he left a legacy of love that we will always cherish. Good bye my heart.
