Hi Kim - bless your coworkers!!! Wow - what wonderful support you have there - I'm so glad to hear that.
When I said I didn't shed one tear in front of Zeus - I only meant when it was time...I got the strength to contain my tears until later...but YES, I have spent many of times crying in his beautiful fur - they come into our lives not only to bring us unconditional love, teach us some of life's lessons and be our best friends, but also (I believe) to be our comfort when we need it.
I wish you love, peace, strength and some laughter in these next few weeks. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Tika, I am so sorry. I'm glad you feel like you've gotten to a better place-that runaway train feeling is horrible. Still, it just plain stinks! It all does!! Except for your co-workers, that's just great what they are doing for you all. Enjoy whatever time you have left with her. I wish I could put into better words all of the good feelings and thoughts that I'm sending your way. ((HUGS))
Thinking of you and Tika this morning. Hope you have a happy day.

Kim nd Tika,
Lem me add myself to the list of people shedding tears. I am so very sorry. We want our time measured in years, decades if we are honest, not weeks. You are in my prayers. Tika will okay because you will let her go when it is time.
A cyber-hug is being sent to you and Tika from me and one from Emily to Tika (sorry, Kim, she probably wouldn't hug you unless you had food).

Hello everybody:
I just wanted to share with you that our girl has rallied and is doing pretty darn good. Sunday we even went for a walk! She's starting to eat more and more things.
The magic bullet was Cesar's Softies dog treats, she just loved them. Since then we've been adding more things back in that she wasn't eating before. No kibble anymore, but at this point she can have whatever she wants.
So her current plan of care is Pepcid in the morning, and then a Metcam SubQ injection every evening. We have her temperature back to normal and she doesn't seem to be losing strength in her back leg. I took her temp this morning and Tika was looking at me like, I've been really patient with all of you guys nonsense, but this, this is pushing it a bit!
Interestingly enough, one of the possible side effects of Palladia was loss of strength in a hind leg, and where she only has one.......
However, we screwed up big time with our other dog that has pancreatic insufficiency, we both had been using her as a guinea pig to see if Tika would eat. However, her digestive system can't handle it. She's happy, but uncomfortable and had a big old nasty accident in our living room last night. So no extras for her now!
So, I think we achieved the one thing I wished for was to make her comfortable now. She's certainly happy, and that brings joy to my heart.

Hi Tika
We were thinking of you last night and wanted to say hello. Very nice of you to take time from these precious days to send your good wishes to Tazzie and many other tripawds. I was really happy to hear that Tika is rallying, eating and walking and being her old (young) self! That is fantastic. Have a great weekend. Those are great suggestions for pain relieft (subQ metacam - I will ask my vet if that is easier on kidneys).
Tazzie
I was so happy to read that Tika finally got some of her appetite back! What a relief it must have been for you!! Since this whole cancer and amputation ordeal, it seems that ever tiny advance (first pee, first poop, first walk, first meal) is like a miracle to all of us. I hope that Tika continues to do well...
Sending good thoughts your way!!!
