On Sunday night as usual Tasha had gone to bed several hours before us, just as we climbed into bed we hear Tasha cry out in pain, we jumped up and went to her there was nothing around that could she could have hurt herself on so we petted her she seemed ok so we went back to bed and then it happened again, she cried again. Back over to her, still could find nothing, fear was starting to settle in to me. On Monday morning as she was getting up for the day she cried out again but once up all seemed fine, she hopped out to have her breakfast all seemed ok. In the evening we all were outside and as Bob was petting Tasha he got to a place on her low back that made her cry out, I immediately called her vet to make an appointment for her to be seen the next day. On Tuesday morning when we got up Tasha cried out really bad and wouldn't get up, at this point all I could think of was spinal meds. Once Tasha finally did get up again she seemed ok, ready for breakfast. I knew things weren't right, she wouldn't roll up on her back, one of her favorite positions and her eyes just didn't have the usual sparkle. I at this point was so scared, I just lost Ruby a month before I just couldn't now be losing Tasha. What a mess I was all day waiting for her appointment. Tasha's vet really feels she has just hurt her back, her gave her a cortisone shot, put her on a antibiotic and on Rimadyl. He told us that we should a big improvement very quickly, he did not feel the cancer was returning. This morning Tasha got up and didn't cry, she hopped outside, she seems happy, she ate her breakfast, she even rolled up on her back when my son walked onto the room for tummy pets, so for now it seems like everything is going in the right direction. I am praying all this is just a minor set back.

Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Wow, I'm sure glad she's doing better! Those shots are supposed to last quite a while, so hopefully by the time it wears off, whatever was wrong will have healed.
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.
