Spanky, we were wondering how you were doing?  We had our amps on the very same day.  Life here is wonderful...sutures come out tomorrow (July 28).  I know you're probably very busy, but we're thinking happy thoughts for you and wishing a speedy recovery, like mine has been!  Keep us posted!

Hellooooooooo!!!!!  Thanks for the email Jerry!  ...and thanks Bella for thinking of us too!  All is great in our doghouse so far!  Got the staples out last Thursday and the incision is looking great, all healed up!  We got a green light from he vet to play and run around like crazy again, yippee!!!!  We went to the dog park for the very first time on Saturday, and man....did Spanky run laps around half the dogs there!  He was quite the celebrity, I lost count of how many people had tons of questions and wanted to know everything about what happened to him.  Everyone commented over and over about how amazing he gets around and how he is so full of life.  He really is an inspiration to everyone that meets him.  We are lucky to have such a wonderful pup in our lives, we count our blessings everyday!  Bella, tell me all about how you are coming along?! Are you running around and harassing your pawrents yet?  Have you mastered eating out of your food bowl and jumping on the bed/couch?  I have some pictures to post of Spanky as soon as I can find some time.  I promise I will try to do it soon! Hugs and ear sniffs!

Hi Spanky - we love to hear that you're doing so well. Being a tripawd, we surely get a little (and sometimes a lot) more attention - at least that is what I've found 🙂

I know what you mean about the inspiration thing...my mommy tells everyone that I'm her hero and how proud she is of me, I think I'm starting to get a big head 😉

Keep in touch!

YAY!

So glad to hear all is well!  I just got my sutures out today (my mom requested no staples, but good old-fashioned sutures...she works for a people surgeon and knows about these things, I guess).  It felt so good to get my BATH!  I found my rubber ducky and everything!  My mom was smart and placed a towel into the tub so I didn't slide around.  I was a little worried about that.

They also took down the gate blocking the stairs so now I can run up to see my kids.  We went for a nice walk where we saw birds and butterflies.  It's been exactly 2 weeks since my surgery and the people keep saying how happy they are I'm doing so well.  I get a little tired, but I'm not complaining about that.  SO happy to hear from you!

Keep in touch!

Hey I got stitches too. Weird how some vets choose staples and some don't? I wonder why?

Glad to hear you too are doing so well, Bella. Just don't run down the steps too fast! Enjoy your new freedom outside and have fun playing! keep us posted.

Love,

Jerry

Yay Bella, you can go back to your normal pup-self now! Spanky got to enjoy some popcorn last night for being such a good pup and finishing all his meds last night!  Our vet had planned to use stitches, but Spanky's surgery took over 5 hours and they were concerned that he had been under too long for a 5 month old pup. They decided to staple him up to get him out of the O.R. faster.  That was fine with us, we just wanted a healthy and pain-free pup.  I love to watch people's expressions when they stare at him hopping along.  You never know how people are going to react to Spanky, but everyone so far has treated him like a little celebrity!  He is spoiled, to say the least!  Here are a few pictures of Spanks......

Wow Spanky, you look great! What a COOL dog you are!

Yeah, as if seeing a Catahoula walking down the street wasn't unusual enough, now you're a Tripawd Catahoula! You're gonna be a celebrity before you know it.

Your surgery took a really long time, I see why they just wanted to staple you up. So glad you made it through safely.

Tell your Mom thanks for posting the pictures!

Paws up!
