Today we celebrated Smokey's one year ampuversary!!!!! 🙂 I can't thank everyone enough for all of their kind and helpful words when I first came upon our situation and I had no clue what to do. I still can't believe what we've gone through this last year but every single day has been worth it!
Today I helped Smokey hop in the car and then we headed west to the Oregon Coast. We stopped in Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, and Newport for some ocean viewing and photo opps. We didn't go down on the sand because that would have been too tough on Smokey. I did snap this one picture of him today:
He also got a McDonald's hamburger for his treat today 🙂 I know that's bad, but he never gets them anymore and today was a special day! And now we're off to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.
Thanks so much to everyone on this forum! And most especially to Jerry, Rene, and Jim.

Wow!!! Sounds like the celebration is off to a great start and we want to raise our glasses in toast for reaching such a wonderful milestone. We tip our hats to anyone willing to go down this journey's path in order to preserve that special feeling that we share with our companions, but such successes as Smokey's is inspiration to all.
Smokey is beautiful and you two make a good looking couple. We can relate to the fun you had on the Oregon coast since that is one of our favorite destinations. We have made a number of trips up the entire length of the coast, stopping at Oregon's great RV Parks, and enjoying the beaches and views. Some of our geatest times were walking the spit at Cape Lookout, and stolls along Beverly Beach and at Ft Stevens. Your celebration outing sounds like just the thing to enjoy the day.
Paws crossed and pawsitive thoughts for many more ampuversarys,
Bob & Cherry
