Silly worries here last week.
On Monday the 22 th, Oslo started to cough in a way that told me he wanted to throw up. He could cough 20 times a day. But nothing came out. I did not worry at all at first. OK maybe a little bit but really not that much. Days passed, coughing did not stop and then he started to have diarrea…humm……he seemed to have a lack of energy too (kind of depressed) . That's when I started to worry and thought it could be mets…of course, when something is wrong, tripawrents' brain always end up with that whole mets concept. Then on Saturday night, he throwed up his supper. That was enough for me. It was time to ask for an appointment with our vet…which could luckily meet us on sunday morning (yep he was working on sunday) . Dr A. asked us to stop giving Oslo his meals for the next 24 hours because chances were it was only a stomach irritation caused by a smoked bone we had given to Oslo to chew on Monday the 22th. So no meals on Sunday, stomach resting and big baby wondering why we dare to starve him… but luckily no more throw up…till Monday morning when he vomitted that big black thing…one of Oslosdaddy's socks!
Oslo is doing back to a great mood and shape now so I can laugh at all this… and break Oslosdaddy's neck!!
Suzanne and Oslo, proud tripawd socks eater
OMD, Oslo! You crazy tripawd! So many questions come to mind. I could understand if it were young Wyatt (no offense WRD, but you are at that age), but why is a (how old is Oslo, 6, 7, 8 or so) so-called "mature" dog eating socks?
Thank dog the sock did come up and so just left us with a very funny story!
Of course, we jump to the worst possible conclusions at the first sign of any trouble ... silly humans! Yum, yum, yummmmmmmm, socks. We're sure glad to hear that's all it was!

Glad to hear it was only a sock, it could have been your daddy's underwear! We're just happy the Oslo is o.k.
Chuy, showing everyone that Tripawds do everything 3 times better than regular dogs!
Oslo, you are a bit 'mature' for the puppy antics. Glad you're all better.

Oslo, Suzanne, and barefoot Dad,
Well, did you really have to give your Mom such a scare. I know that it works for Nova, but really! She loves you very much and would give you that extra attention without much encouragement. Dad tells of a story where Cassy was carrying a stone around all day. Then you guesed it, Dad went to check on Cassy and the stone and the stone was gone. About three days later, after much heaving, the stone (now much smaller and with a definate etched appearance) reappeared. However, that was the last time Miss Cassy carried stones around in her mouth.
Actually, Dad was very pleased to hear that you are doing better. Did you frame the sock?
Spirit Cherry
LOL! Way to go, Oslo. Daddy better start picking his socks up off the floor a little faster! Glad to hear your better.

OMG! Oslo... a sock? Really?!! What is so tastey about a sock? All you did was freak out your mommy... But, even a sock can cause alot of damage... so please... go back to chewing on your toys and rawhide bones... Maybe your mommy needs to buy you some new fun and tasty toys, since it sounds like you are getting bored, ha! ha! I'm so glad to hear that you are OK!!! Tell that mom of yours to post some recent pictures of videos of you!
Now as for Oslo's daddy... no more leaving your socks lying around the house!!! That's an order!!

OhMyDog! As I read and write, Mr. Monkeybutt is playing with my sock! He steals them every chance he gets! Sometimes I care and sometimes I don't.
SO THANK YOU OSLO for letting me know what are the signs of socks eating! What a wonderful ending to the story! I'm so glad you got some puppy left in Oslo!

What a scare it must have been to have Oslo chocking and acting sick, it doesn't take much to put the fear into us, but what a funny and happy ending you sock eating dog!

Maybe Oslo will get mad at Tazzie, but what the heck. He's so sweet - What will he do? Messenger Tazzie told me that Oslo said the following:
For your information, I have eaten many many oslosdaddy's socks in my life. (I do not have enough toes, even when I had four legs, to make the exact count) But
it is the first time that a sock did not come out by the right exit.
It had never given me troubles before.
Notice that we only heard from Oslomummy when the worry was over. You are so brave Oslomummy! But it sounds even worse to imagine a sock coming out the "right exit" (but I suppose he means in bits in pieces rather than an entire sock). I don't think such a thing exists. Please find another chew toy Oslobaby.
Is that where all the lost socks go?? I thought the dryer ate them.
Once (pre-cancer) Mag got constipated. She was acting all hang-doggie, she didn't poop for what seemed like days- so I made a vet appointment.
We got about 3 steps in the door at the vet office and Mag did the squat- and produced most of a paper towel
Keep in mind that Mag is a pug, with a pug sized, but apparently industrial strength, digestive system.
I was much relieved, as was Maggie, and I wanted to just leave because, well problem solved, who needs a vet
I don't know how she didn't have any intestinal damage from that.
